“Insanity Revisited” – Dear Jane

I managed to get one more block done for my Dear Jane quilt – getting close to finishing the 5th row!  Only 8 more rows to go which means 104 more of these 4 1/2 inch blocks!! and that is not even talking about the border.  Oh well, the first time I made this quilt (Insanity) it took me 3 years and I imagine this second one will be around that too.  This block is entitled Wagon Wheel and it is E-11.

I got a little more work done on the flying geese, but finally rearranged my sewing room a little once again to make room for the sewing machine and table.  I had put them away because I wasn’t using them all that much but now that I have gotten on this crazy scheme to use up some of my scraps I am sewing a bit again.  I was going to hand piece the units and I did about 10 of them that way but then finished up the units I had cut out with the machine instead.  I have 32 units sewed together.  I am going to put these together in the Dutchmen’s Puzzle pattern and then go from there and decide how large or how many borders this will be – will it be a quilt size or wallhanging?  Not sure at this moment.  I won’t take a picture until I decide a little more on color placement.

Answer is Quilts that used a wide variety of fabrics. I have made all of these, they are a fun way to get rid of your scraps.  Here is an interesting article on Charm quilts it is from the Quilters Newsletter.  Here is a link to my postage stamp quilt that I made a few years back.  A postage stamp quilt is made using 1 1/2 inch squares – as many as you want or dare   Scrap quilts are just as the name states, quilts made with scraps.
