Gina - I know you have told me that you have not been quilting for a long time, I have been, so what is easy for me would not be as easy for you - but it will be after you have been doing it for awhile. I made my first quilt 33 years ago and it did not turn out well!! no lessons, no classes, I am self taught and it took awhile before I had one turn out good! I really got into it a lot about 20 years ago. You will find it easier after you make a few more.

Karen you are a natural and gifted artist.
It's so beautiful and the details on the corner are lovely.
How can you say it was easy and took only 8hrs?? I am struggling even with colours and not to mention putting the blocks together! :)
It is really beautiful.

A summer quilt...let me see...I think most of mine that I make could be classified as summer as they are bright and cheery. I have no flannels which I think are winter quilts.

Love your work posted above here. Very lovely.

thanks for the compliments on the little quilt top everyone. It was really easy to do and I bet I didn't spend more than 8 hours on it total. I have so many ideas for more scrap quilts and will over the next several months try to make more although I really have to get busy and quilt some also. I'm not getting a lot done today as I'm still dealing with the box of Kleenex!

Sounds like we've had the same problem with our noses while trying to work on our quilts. It's difficult to sew when one has to put the needle down and grab a tissue. Your quilt top is very pretty; my kind of quilt! For lots of string piecing ideas, the book, "Liberated String Quilts", by Gwen Marston, is a treasure.
