Another Dear Jane block F-8 Church Window for “Insanity Revisited” got finished today. Today was our small dear Jane group meeting and we sewed from about 12 to 3 today, believe me I needed the whole time to do this one and had one seam to finish after I got home. I would have just stitched until I was done but I was getting my hair cut at 3:30 so had to start packing it in a little after 3 so I wouldn’t be late.
The good news on the hair is that just about all the old hair dye is now cut off and I’m almost “natural”. The back of my head is still just about all dark hair where as the front isn’t in such good shape
I am almost pure white on the sides and gray scattering over the top mixed in with the medium dark brown hair – what a combo, but we will see how it goes, it isn’t real bad to look at and I guess I am getting use to it. The sides that are white is short and has some dark hair covering it so it’s not like it is striped or anything
I would like to stick to my guns of not going back to dyeing it but we will see – I will need a little while looking at it to decide.
Quilting on the “Insanity” quilt has not progressed a lot this week as I wasn’t home yesterday and went to bed early –
today I have been out most of the day but I will be quilting on it this evening. This is how much is done right now. Just click on it and it will take you to a much larger photo.
Are any of you fans of John Grisham? I love his books. That is I always use to then I got kind of tired of them and he seemed to change his writing a little bit
over the last 5 years or so I thought. I had heard that this newest book was back to his early style of writing like “The Firm” and “The Pelican Brief” so I got it on sale the other day. I buy the books that I know I will reread which I do a lot. I loved the book – as it was publicized– it very much was like his older style of writing and I really enjoyed the book. I love novels of the law-spy-WWII-police – cold war era — I do read romatic novels sometimes as well but they do not hold my interest as much. I also love the gory CSI type of book. Anyone know of any good ones that fall into those categories?

I like John Grisham, but my favorite is David Baldacci. He writes wonderful stories. Also check out Harlen Cobin, he has a detective named Elvis Cole in a recurring role in a few of his books. A really good read.
Don’t get me started about hair. I just had highlights put in. I am fair and I know I don’t look good grey as I have aunts to prove it! If you can wear bright pink and I mean bright, then grey is great for you. But different colours require different make up or blushes or whatever. Geez, just thinking about it makes me stress out!

Yes I like most of David Baldacci’s books too, but I haven’t enjoyed the “Camel Club” series that he writes – it hasn’t gotten my interest. I will look for Halen Cobin and see what he has. My hair is mostly dark yet so not too bad – just takes getting use to after dyeing it for such awhile.
Well, you know that I’ll encourage you to let the hair keep going natural! Since mine’s getting a lot of gray on the sides and there’s no way I’d every keep up with dying it! My mom should have more gray hair than I do! LOL.

Yes Mel I know you want me to be natural so you can be natural without feeling old
actually with my hair the length it is and with it always tucked behind my ears the white is noticeable but doesn’t look weird – now if I didn’t tuck it behind my ears and it was just hanging there on each side of my face that white would look pretty weird.
I love all of Patricia Cornwell’s books, her Scarpetta books are great. Another author I like is Jeffery Archer, he writes about the British Parliment, which is really interesting, as well as being a good read. I don’t have the titles as I get them from my book trader but if you can get them from your library start with the earlier ones…they will get you hooked, not that each book is a continuation of the last.
I let my hair go from dark to white without any dying, simply because the color faded equally and I liked each stage. My mom complained once so I put a black rinse in at Christmas and she didn’t even notice. When I left I told her she blew it and I was not going to dye my hair again LOL. I did do a red rinse after that for her birthday….again she didn’t notice LOL.
Ok, enough blathering.

I read all the Scarpetta books too. I have read just a couple of Jeffrey Archers – I should look at the library. I go through spells of going to the library – we have tons of books here at the house though too as we have collected for years, our living room has built in bookshelves on almost all walls – then we have overflow into the bedroom on shelves, we have always been a book reading family! Another author I love is John Sandford – he doesn’t write them fast enough in my opinion!
try Nevada Barr’s books. They are gory, crime detective reads. Also Tami Hoag. SAhe is great!
I have read most of Nevada Barr’s books and have been to most of the places they take place at too! I have read a couple of Tami Hoag’s but I haven’t been able to get all that interested in her books for some reason.
