Karen, in spite of the long drive it sounds like you really had a nice day with your mom and she went home a happy camper with her new can opener LOL. I don’t know why I had never ordered from FQW before the service was great. I have never ordered from FQS, I looked at it after you mentioned it and it looks like they have great stuff as well – I bookmarked it in my folder for quilt fabric and will check it out next time I need something. Yes a three hour drive is something else. My father died 15 years ago and it was before I-540 was open we use to have to drive old highway 71 and it took 3 hours on those curvy mountain road – talk about running when he was sick.

I feel for you Karen. My parents are a 3 hour one way trip, and I worry that soon they're going to need assistance on a regular basis, and as of yet I can't convince them to move down here by us. The fabrics are lovely. Fat Quarter World and the Fat Quarter Shop both have super fast shipping here to AR. Excellent service at either one.
