More varieties of the daffodils have opened so I have a fresh bouquet next to the computer. If you look closely you will see a miniature variety
peeking out at the top of the mug. I planted some pansies in the fall in two hanging baskets outside and left them there all winter, they are coming out of their dormant period and blooming again also. In the distance in the flower bed are iris’s coming up and Queen Anne Lace which are not visible in this photo. Some black eye Susan and purple cone flower are also starting to grow, but are very small.
Off to the side of the pansy baskets are the climbing roses with leaves opening by
the railing of the deck. On this other side of the deck looking down is the hydrangea with the leaves opening also. This hydrangea has blue flowers. I rooted 7 plants off of this hydrangea last summer and planted them in the fall in the large flower bed to the far side of the yard that I finished last year and I’m glad to say they all took root and are growing and leaves budding on them also. I will take photo’s of that bed when the plants get a little larger.
I have a little more quilting on Insanity to report! Row B is almost finished. The photo on the left is B8, 9, & 10 from right to left. This photo on the right is
of B 11 & 12 right to left. Number B12 in this photo is not quite finished with the quilting but almost. The fabric in this block is from my grandson’s baby quilt! He is 8 1/2 now so you can see how long I hang on to fabric, of course that block was made about 3 years ago also. As I am quilting I am remembering fabric from special quilts made over the years.
And for those of you who really want more links to quilt patterns that you think you just have to make – check out the BOM at Applewood Farm Publication, this BOM is a combination of pieced blocks and applique. It is pretty. Do not know if I will ever make it but I have it bookmarked and will print out the blocks as they make them available – just in case
