there is so much work in it but yes it certainly would be a challenge – the easy quilts just don’t satisfy me anymore but like I say I need to study the book when I get it and then really work my butt of this year finishing some of these I have started.

That is a beautiful quilt. Whenever I’ve gone to quilt shows with you, those intensely appliqued quilts are always some of my favorite. It certainly looks advanced–but you seem like you’re at the point where the challenge is half the fun anymore.

Anne I know what you mean about it being advanced – I’m really not sure if it is for me or not. I am waiting for my book and I will really look it over a lot before I decide – I wouldn’t start it until next year if I do make it.

Hi Karen, your Christmas Baltimore Album is looking beautiful, I do love Baltimore blocks and red and green always look so good together. I have the book for the Little Brown Bird book and a few years ago I aslo got a CD-ROM with all the patterns from the book so that you can resize them, print them out etc., but I must admit that although I love doing hand applique I've never tried any of them, maybe I should go back and look at the book again. I think when I first had the book it was a bit too advanced for me, and I didn't have the lovely range of batik and plain fabrics that I now have. Anne’s last blog post..Quillow

some of the flowers on this fancy quilt are stuffed I don’t know about the methods. I think the main “painting” is actually done with fabric pens and accents the veins in the leaves things like that. I will let you know what the book has to say about it. One thing I am thinking is instead of making so many blocks to possibly enlarge some and have one picture in each of the blocks that have four. Just a thought at the moment – like I say I really don’t know if I will make it. I had found the book on amazon for only $14 so thought I would get it so I could really look at it good.

CJ one of the things holding me back from committing for sure with this project is how fancy it is – I normally do not do “fancy”. I love the Christmas one as it isn’t overdone. I don’t even have anything “frilly, fancy, lacy”ect in my house. I don’t even wear fancy!

Dang Karen, every time I see that quilt I want to make it. I'll be interested in how much painting it will need (my current deterent from making this quilt)....maybe it doesn't have to have paint LOL. Do you know if any of the flowers are dementional, like rusched or whatever? I'm really liking your Christmas Baltimore. I'm always in awe of your ability to get so much sewing done.
