Most of us I find are never satisfied with the weather. We complain when it is too hot, too cold, stormy weather. I know I would be happy if it was 75 degrees every day – but it isn’t so I guess I need to suck it up and not complain! But man is it
hot outside LOL
I made a little progress on my “Circle of Cactus” block today. If it keep at it at this rate I will be done with it in about 5 more days! Of course I am not working on much of anything else at the moment. I really do need to get another Dear Jane block going for the “Insanity Revisited” quilt but I have let it slide. I will get more work done starting next week I think.
Mike is going back to contract work once again for a short while doing what he loves – teaching. While he is back to work I’m sure I will probably spend more time in the heat of the afternoon sewing.
I finished a book this afternoon by Karen White called “The Lost Hours” very good book. It really held my interest. The link leads to her web site and tells you about her books. I think I have read all of them and I only recently “discovered” her! I have run out of books to read and I will have to start looking through my shelves for a couple good reads for the weekend. I love to reread some of my old books – some of them I got back in the 1970′s and still are among my favorites.

We are heading into a hot spell too, thank goodness we don’t have the high humidity though. I wrote down this author’s name, I’m down to my last book too and will have to hit up my favorite book trader place next time I’m in town.
Crispy
I think I will run to the library on Monday Crispy and see what they have, I buy too many books too and really need to see what the library has to offer while we are at home and then buy some for when we are on the road.
Odette thank you for your comments on my blog, I go to your blog frequently to look and see what you are up to
Mom, here is a rough translation of Odette’s post. There were a lot of idioms, which I think is what made it hard for the translator you usually use. My spanish has gotten so bad that it took me 30 minutes to work this out this morning. LOL. But it was good practice. I keep saying I’m going to study Spanish again so I can read Gabriel Garcia Marquez in the original, but you know how things like that go . . . .
Rough translation:
Hi Karen, I have visited your blog many times, and throughout the places you have visited the one that impressed me the most is the store in Lancaster, I have seen refereces to it before, but your fotos were very good, I am glad you are well . . . I glad the storms have moved further on . . . In every place we have natural disasters, here it is the earth quakes, it is good that you are working hard on your projects and they continue to be very good.
I leave you with a big hug
Affectionately Odette

Hi Karen. It’s wonderful to look at your blog again and see the progressions you are making in your quilt. I do love the colours. I suppose that it’s much better in person. I know that we see posted quilts and love them, but knowing that up close and personal is so much better is testament to the person quilting said quilt.
I have been reading Judith McNaught…Someone to Watch over Me is excellent for reading in hot summer days…I like lots of different authors and so flit from here to there all the time. Greg Iles is excellent too, but I haven’t read one of his in a year…
We are having, at last as Crispy said summer days, which we have been waiting for here in Ontario as well as North Dakota. I don’t know what has happened to global warming but it sure has been a cool spring.
Ah, it’s great to be back here visiting again….
nanci’s last blog post..SATELLITE BLISS!
Nanci so glad that you are back on line and getting caught up with all of our blogs. Right now it seems like we have gone from late spring to the middle of summer in the span of one week!! mid90′s today and for the week to come – I just might get a bit of sewing done as in the afternoon I will need the comfort of the air conditioner or I will melt outside
Karen
