Have a Wonderful Day award from Astrid in Mauritius

Thank you Astrid for the award and thinking of me for it.

I am supposed to pass this award on to 8 blogging friends.  I have read so many blogs that I know I can not pass it to everyone so I am sorry in advance if I have left you off of the list.  Here goes – I have come to enjoy these blogs and get inspiration for ideas from all.  I love the  chatter and the comments from all of you.  Pass the award on if you wish.

Crispy from Crispy Quilts
Wanda from Exuberant Color
Melanie from From Scratch (my daughter and the only one not a quilter on this list – but she does love them!)
Chris from Greetings From Shady Grove
Anya from Hill Creek Quilter
Mary Ann from Mary Anne’s Corner
Nanci from Quilting at the Cottage
Miri from Milk & Honey Quilts

Today was a day that was spent outside almost all day.  Last week we got a pressure washer to clean the deck and the porch.  Mike has been adding on to the deck and it is so nice and clean (the new area that is) that the old part looks so dirty now.  While he is building the deck today seeing as it was cloudy I got started with the power washer.  I got the deck area just about completed today.  I forgot one section of the railing and then I have to go around the outside of it and get the side of the railings that face out to the yard — this is such dirty work you wouldn’t believe it!!  I had shorts on because of the heat and I was barefoot – my legs were covered in girt and slime LOL I would have made the grandkids laugh to see me.

Tomorrow I will finish the deck and then get started on the porch flooring boards they are not as bad as the deck is because of being under cover of the roof, but they still need cleaning badly also.

I got no sewing done today and I forgot to glue baste the last flower down so I will try to do that tonight before I go to bed.

  1. Thanks for the award! :)

Is your foot feeling all right from the pressure sprayer this morning?
melanie´s last blog ..The Garden–June 23nd My ComLuv Profile

  2. yes my foot is ok – I forgot to mention that above – I sprayed one foot by accident – ouch! it was spotted red for awhile but it gradually faded away during the day.

  3. Awww thanks for thinking of me Karen. I really love coming to your blog too. Ouch on spraying your foot…probably why they recommend shoes and protective eyewear. You would need windshield wipers on the eyewear though LOL.

    Crispy

  4. Thank you for the award. I am posting it today.
You have been busy. I find that the I am so much more busy than the winter. I suppose it’s because we are outside and see what has to be done or else…At the cottage there is always painting cleaning up debris due to the elements.
Arkansas is probably as warm as we are in Canada now, we are in the mid 80s and yest it’s humid, but I move slowly, and don’t complain (yet) as I still remember the dreadful winter we had.

  5. LOL yes Crispy protective things are recommended. I wore shoes this morning but I wimped out quickly after having worked all day yesterday my body was aching too much today and said take the day off :) I will continue on it tomorrow.

Nanci it is in the 90’s here and has been for over a week and looks like from the weather map that it will continue for awhile.

  6. Its been hot here too and not much has been gotten done! Plus its deer fly season and they are BAD this year!

  7. I’m glad we do not have the deer flies but in the early morning and all evening the mosquitoes are out and I do dislike them

  8. Thank you so much, Karen. I enjoy reading your blog and am grateful for all the closeup photos of your quilting that you share with the rest of us. We’re having beautiful weather here in PA — 80s with a breeze and not humid yet. Bright and sunny…50s at night.

  9. Karen does the power washer work well? I keep thinking I’d love to get one!

  10. yes CJ the power washer works really well and goes pretty fast for clean up. The only problem I have had with it is the wood I am cleaning is very dry and has been a deck for about 15 years(est) so some of it is cracking a little and peeling (mainly the top railings) so have to be a little more careful there. Well need to put wood sealer on it when finished – like Thompson or whatever I find that is good. This will be a long summer project.

  11. Can you use it on vehicles? I was thinking the RV… and I wonder what it would do to stucco? I don’t have any wood to power wash, LOL

  12. I haven’t a clue if you can use it on cars and RV’s you would want to find out about that before you do it – when I see it peeling off some of the dry wood in places I would be hesitant to use if for that – as for stucco if anything is loose anywhere the power washer will get under it and knock it off as it has done on some of the wood I think. you might want to research it.

  13. Mmm… that makes sense, thanks!

  14. CJ I got to looking at it while I was out there working a little while ago and found that there is a control switch that can regulate the water flow – Mike had it all set up for me to use and I never even looked at but started to work. With the flow regulator you can control the pressure so yes I think it would work on vehicles and RV’s

  15. Really! I guess I’ll have to go check one out… for the stucco, it’s the darn mud dobbers, they’re out of hose reach!

  16. Thanks for the award :)

BTW, are you on the quilt history list?
