At 7 this evening after being without water for about 30 hours the water started to
slowly trickle out of the water faucet. It has taken 45 minutes to fill up the toilet tank! Maybe the water pressure will be back to normal tomorrow? I really need to get laundry done and do not look forward to a laundromat.
This morning Mike cut the maple tree (upper left) up for firewood (firewood upper right) and we hooked the trailer onto the back of the truck to load up all the branches. It started to rain so we headed back to the house. Then it stopped raining so the trailer got unloaded – then we took it back to try to finish the job – started to rain again – we will finish it tomorrow.
Seeing as it kept raining off and on all day we decided to take a drive around the neighborhood and take photo’s of the storm damage.
a neighbors house a half mile from us,(our old English teachers house) lot's of damage to back of house, a tree fell on the back porch and roof, also a lot of trees down all around house
a church 3 miles from us that my niece and nephew use to go to bible camp at in the summer time. There are six very large trees down by the roots and two partial trees down that we saw, there might have been more that we missed.
the neighbors across the street from us (that is the end of our driveway) they lost a very large tree in the middle of their front yard - our maple tree that fell down looked down right puny compared to that - we were lucky.
Now maybe I can get back to quilting tomorrow? Hope so

Wow, you really did have a storm. The trees look like the ones that came down in the hurricanes we had in FL.
Wow, that is really amazing!! Did you ever hear how strong the winds were?
Crispy
we heard winds were 50 to 75mph but that some gusts of wind were higher than that. We did hear yesterday that after the storm passed us a small tornado (level 1) did develop in the next county but it was only on the ground for a very short while.
Those are some incredible pictures! Glad that you’re all alright!

Wow, lots of HUGE trees uprooted! How scary! I hate seeing damage like that. It takes some trees 50 or more years go get that big. Not something you can replant and have full-size in your lifetime, usually. Glad you guys are alright!
Hugs from Michigan!
Great pictures Karen! Wasn’t that something? Water is the one thing we worry about now that we’re on city water. I’m happy to hear you guys came through the storm okay!
CJ’s last blog post..Ugh it’s HOT!
thanks everyone for your comments. We are so glad we made it through the storm good too.
Caron you would not believe how fast trees grow here in Arkansas. What it takes for Michigan trees to grow in 50 years is what it takes about 20 to 30 years in Arkansas. We planted several trees 25 years ago that are huge. I will post some pictures of them.
CJ I know what you mean about city water (or county water actually) we are on a boil water order I’m not sure for how long. We do have a well as when we first moved here county water was not available. We had so much trouble with the pump that when we finally got the country water we didn’t fix the pump the last time it went out. We are thinking it is something we might want to do and use it for watering the outside and have it available if we ever loose the water again due to a storm or whatever. The well water is very bad with minerals though- the bathroom tub, toilet, sink had turned orange from the mineral content.
