I went into the big city of Little Rock today for a doctor appointment, lunch and shopping. Thankfully it hardly rained at all! I really thought I was going to be driving in heavy rain either on the way there or back – or both – but only a light mist in the morning and nothing on the way back!
After the check up -all is well and I was in and out before you know it even with running into someone I knew and chatting for a little bit. After the appointment I ran over to JoAnne’s Fabric to look around and found a few things to buy – of course – I had printed out their 40% off on one item so had to use it right? Went by Books A Million and found a book that someone had recommended awhile back “The Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold. I think Nanci told me about it but I could be wrong, awhile back several people were recommending books. I have never read any of her books and will get to it when I finish the current book I am reading. I also looked for but couldn’t find “The Time Travelers Wife” I heard that one was good too – I went to two books stores and it was sold out at both! I was surprised by that. I will check at the local bookstore tomorrow and if I still can’t find it I will order it on line.
I was able to meet my daughter and her hubby for lunch – we went to the Olive Garden. She was working though today so it was just lunch and she had to get back to work and I finished up my shopping and came home.
I have been working on the next row of “Insanity” this evening and have the border triangles done for Row H (#8) done. I will start on the blocks in that row tomorrow.

Oh yes coupons MUST be used, you never know when you will have access to another one LOL. That one book must be good to be sold out in two stores, I look forward to hearing your review on them.
Crispy
Karen, I’ve been reading “The Lovely Bones” too. My problem is I can’t quilt and read at the same time. I used to read two or three books a week and sometimes more. Now it may take me months to get through one as I only pick it up those rare times I not quilting. Except wait…….lately I haven’t gotten much of that done either!

I think “The Time Traveller’s Wife” is sold out because of the upcoming movie! I really enjoyed The Lovely Bones and just started reading her next one, The Almost Moon, which really begins with a bang!
P.S. thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your lovely comment!

I heard rave reviews of The Time Travelers Wife.
Your triangles are beautiful. I love the V shaped quilting design you are putting in them.

I was thinking also that the reason the book is selling out is because of the movie. I well look around and see if I can find it = I heard it was good.
Hi Karen,
Thanks for popping by to visit my blog- It is always nice to meet quilters.
I stopped to see your web page with your quilts. A friend has made the dragon pattern- It is quite the complicated pattern to create. I liked your log cabin variation that is earth colors – the center you designed using Quilt Pro- It turned out beautifully-
I also really liked your Kaleidoscope variation. I do hope you will come and visit me again.
Warmest regards,
Anna

Yeah Karen, it was me that recommended The Lovely Bones. Put your name in it as it’s a great book to pass on to friends.
Don’t talk about rain…we had about 6 inches last night. Torrential downpour, just like we can get in the Caribbean. Unbelievable and to make matters worse, we lost power…generator hooked up so I have at least limited use.
What a summer….
hope your appt was just a check up and that you are good to go on the Insanity…
