I have been busy the last almost 2 hours this evening quilting. When on a roll keep going I say. I usually get up about every hour at least to stretch and tonight I just kept going. I have come to realize it takes me between 20 to 30 minutes to quilt each block and triangle. I really need to stretch more. I’m back for some massage therapy on my neck and shoulders tomorrow. My neck arthritis is starting to become a problem again, and at the rate I sew I guess that is my problem!!
That’s alright – this too shall pass – it always does. I need to get some more stretches in here I think.
I got done with 4 blocks this evening – actually 3 1/2 as I started one this morning and first got back to it this evening. Row H is coming along great! On the right are blocks 1 and 2 and on the left are blocks 3 and 4.
I checked at the local bookstore for the book “The Time Travelers Wife” and they didn’t have it either. I asked the lady in charge if they were getting any and she said what they had sold all of a sudden and she has 60 more copies on order but has no idea when it will get in so I ordered a copy from Amazon. Should get it within a week or so. Isn’t it amazing how some books can sit around for some time, then all of a sudden they are made into a movie and everyone wants the book. Time will tell if I think it was worth the trouble to get it!
I guess I should start a category on here for books with as much as I read or book reviews or something. I will give it some thought.

Stretching is a good thing, especially if you are bent over a frame or sewing machine….me, I recline when I sew LOL.

Hi,
I’ve just realized that with all this intricate detail on your insanity quilt, it’ll take almost as long to look properly at the finished quilt as it took to make it – that must be worth something!
Cheers,
Christine

Your quilt looks great! I was thinking of getting that book too. Good to know not to rush to get it. I just love time travel type of reading. I find it very intriguing.

Your blocks are all beautiful. 30 minutes…that is not bad. How many 30 minute blocks of time can we find through out the day? Lots if we look, I think. Yes…stretching is good.

It makes sense that all that sitting with your neck bent would put a strain on your body. I have to get up and stretch a lot too. Your quilting is just beautiful and I can see why all of the pain is worth it!

Oh my goodness…I started a DJ quilt and quit after 20 blocks. Yours looks so beautiful and hand quilted too! Amazing!
Also, I just read The Time Traveler’s Wife and I LOVED it. I’d even go so far as to say it’s one of my top 10 favorite books of all time. I saw a preview for the movie the other day and remembered that I had seen the book on my boyfriend’s shelves. He wasn’t planning to read it for a while so he passed it on to me. I could not put it down (after some very slight initial frustration because time travel is sort of confusing). I hope you like it.

I love time travel books so hope this one will be good.
I am half way done with the “Lovely Bones” and it is good thanks for recommending it Nanci.
The neck massage was so good! she does the shoulders and upper back too – it is worth it. I’m going to do it once a week for awhile and start back in with quilting for 30 minutes at a time – then stretch – then quilt – stretch
I don’t quilt, but love your blog. But, I do read…sometimes as many as five books a week. I have found that most movies are not nearly as good as the book. The exception? Pride and Prejudice by the BBC (not the Kiera Knightly movie…pure drivel). I discovered that if I read the book first, I am mostly disappointed in the movie, but never the other way around. Oh well….
