I think you are right about the gray walls, a color would be too much with the fabric and quilts.

As far as the dust on the top fabric, maybe you just need to do a shuffle every Monday morning, the bottom piece pulled out and placed on the top.

Dent in the scrap fabric? Don't you know it multiplies? I swear it always looks like more when it gets fluffed up when you look through it.

for those of us that do hand piecing I think we do not understand how others would be amazed. You really just do a simple running stitch with an occasional back stitch for extra strength. It is really very simple and you can take it with you wherever you go it is so versatile - no sewing machine and equipment needed - mainly just needle, thread, scissors.

Hand piecing? Right now all I have time for is hand applique and sometimes hand piecing my hexagons. Hexagons go so slow though so I lose interest and put them away for a while, but I get them out after a while. I figure it will take 10 years at this rate but I'm really ok with that.

I think you are very wise about the color of your sewing room. I painted mine a sage green, as I love green. BIG mistake. It messes with the design wall and the quilts and wall hangings are not as focal as they would be with a more neutral color.
I have strips ready for a log cabin and never thought of hand piecing it. That may be a great take along project!!

thanks Mariana I am glad to be able to inspire someone! lately I have been inspired a lot looking at other peoples blogs. I have seen so many easy quilts that just plain look like fun to make that I feel like putting aside hard quilts for awhile!
Yes Crispy I hate clutter too and it is so hard to not let it get out of control when you have a small room!
