We went from having a mild summer to hot! practically overnight. Our summer temps had been much lower than normal now all of a sudden we are in the mid 90′s and it looks like it is staying there. Thank heavens for air conditioning. I was hardly outside today other than going to work out in an air conditioned building.
I have not done very much on my “Insanity” quilt since I last posted on Saturday. I have the border triangles done on Row I (the 9th row) on one side. In the photo you can see where I basted the scallop edge down got a little puffy I need to take those basting stitches out before I forget and pull that tighter. I have been mainly working on the applique from the 3rd border on the Christmas quilt. I am almost done on that border.
At the site for the Moda Bake Shop there is an interesting easy quilt featured. They call it the “Scruffily Quilt” – they list the fabric needed and have a short tutorial on how to make it. I have not made a frayed edge quilt and this looks like something to take on a picnic with you doesn’t it! I love the products although I have so many scraps here at home that I haven’t actually ordered any of them. I have only ever bought 2 jelly rolls – once I get some of these scraps eventually used up I will need to start getting some of them for easy quilts.

The temps were in the high 90′s today in Northern Arkansas. I stayed inside and planned my next quilt using up 3 orphan blocks.
I’m so glad we have A/C. We didn’t have A/C when growing up. How did we make it?
It seems you are moving along with quilting your Dear Jane. Keep up the good work! And, your Christmas Baltimore Album is coming along, too. Hope you post a picture after the 3rd border is done.
Thanks, Joyce.
I would love it if you could shave about 10 degrees off your temps and send them to me. 70′s are ok, but love it more around 80. I need to get my bones really warmed up before those sub-zero temps hit in a few months.

I’ll keep sending that heat your way….lol…I want the cooler temps back as I don’t function very well in the heat and humidity!
The Scruffily quilt is cute….I’ve made several frayed edge quilts and they can be kind of fun sometimes.
Your DJ is looking just wonderful, it won’t be long now!
