Amy at Park City Girl is having a Fall Quilt Festival just as she did last spring, having a Spring Quilt Festival then. Go to her page and read all about it and then scroll down her site to see all the quilts listed. The quilt that I am showing is one that I made six years ago – it is a favorite of mine. It is called “Twisted Stars” the pattern is by Judy Niemeyer. The pattern calls for it to be paper pieced. That is not my favorite method of piecing! In fact it is my least favorite. Instead I decided to hand piece it like I do so many of my quilts. For each star I used two fat quarters leaving me plenty of scraps for other quilts. The background is a yellowish batik. The quilt measures 104 x 102 inches. I made it in 2003. Do not hand piece if you want instant gratification! I do not mind the slow pace of hand piecing. This quilt took me 313 hours to hand piece
and 153 hours to hand quilt it. I use to keep track all the time of how many hours I put in to a quilt now I don’t keep track as often. Mainly now I just do on my Dear Jane Quilts.
Head on over to Amy’s page and see the show!
