The scarf

The knitted scarf is finished.  This was my second knitting project in about 3 years – the first was a shawl that turned into a small blanket on the couch!  The scarf turned out ok.

I went ahead and put on my white fleece jacket and my scarf for you all to see. Now we need to see if we have a cold enough winter to use it! Sometimes I we don't even use fleece jackets but a sweatshirt or sweater is plenty.

Sometimes a jacket is not needed and I use a sweatshirt or sweater. I do recall a winter now and then when I didn't use a jacket all winter! Somehow I don't think with this weird weather we have had this year that will happen - I bet we have a cold one.

Today it was near 70 – cooler than yesterday.  We spent most of the day outside.  I was mulching leaves with the riding lawnmower with mulcher baskets attached and Mike was working more on the extension of the deck that he started awhile back and hasn’t had the time (or the weather interfered) to finish.  It is almost finished and hope he gets done with it in the next several weeks so we can clear out that section of the yard of all the building supplies.

Well I am off to work on quilt binding this evening and going to see what is on the tv.

EDITED: A couple people have asked if that wall hanging is a Carol Armstrong pattern – yes it is, I got the pattern out of a magazine.  I do not have any of her books of patterns – I guess I really should with as much applique as I do.

New table

in life in general

We lost our internet for awhile yesterday so I was not able to get on last evening and post photo’s of the new dining area set.  We drove over to Conway to pick it up and then Mike set to putting it together.  They of course put it together for you if they deliver it, but if you pick it up the table comes ready for you to assemble.  It took a little while but did not give Mike a lot of trouble.

the table in place

the table in place and as you can see I did move the wall hanging up much higher on the wall and think it looks much better that way. The set takes up more room than I wanted but it will work out.

Under the table is a storage area for tablecloths, napkins, placemats ect.

Now the kitchen/dining area is finished.  I would love to replace the floor too but that isn’t going to happen for now!  I think my remodeling of that room is done.  I do plan on making some placemats to use to keep the table top in good condition.  Heaven knows I have plenty of fabric to use and batting scraps too!

I got more work done on “Insanity” lat night – moving right along an the hand stitching.  The scarf is just about complete too.  It feels good knowing I am about done with some projects.

Yesterday the weather was unbelievable and I wish I had been outside more than I was.  It got up to 76 degrees and the sun was shining.  I’m not sure but I think it will be more of the same today but maybe just a tad cooler.  I intend to be outside more today now that we have the table taken care of.
