Nothing going on here!

in quilts

Since finishing my “Insanity” Dear Jane quilt I have not been very busy.  No photos to share either!  I have quilted just a little on the Christmas Baltimore Album quilt.  I have mainly been working on the 6th Baltimore Bliss block.  About halfway through the block I decided I did not like some of it and changed the design a little — nothing  major just little changes.  I might be done with this block tomorrow.  If I do I will show it and how the six blocks look together.

When I get done with these Baltimore Bliss blocks I will sew them together in some kind of design to be a child’s size quilt.  I’m really not sure if it will be put with sashing and set on point or just sashing and not on point.  I also need to put my Dutch Treat blocks together in some way.  I haven’t decided for sure on that one what style I want.  I have 38 blocks finished I believe — I had enough fabric for the whole quilt, so I have a lot of yardage left over that could be used in other quilts so I want to do something with that quilt soon.  I guess for this upcoming year I need to get done with these quilt tops and then get busy quilting!!

I notice a lot of quilters that keep blogs put a list on their side bar of what quilts they are working on and what the status of those quilts are through out the year.  I’m starting to wonder if that would motivate me some what.  That will be something to think of in these last weeks of the year 2009.  Does keeping track of your projects help you get them done?

We have had a cold front come through our state this week.  The weekend was nice as could be and Monday morning brought a chill in the air – I think today we had a high of 43 and yesterday the high was first thing in the morning and kept dropping throughout the day.  I actually don’t mind the weather getting a little cooler at this time of the year – we have a short winter.  It is kind of nice to get the sweaters out and the heavier sweatshirts.  I just might be able to use that scarf I knitted soon!!

Hi Karen,

I’m one of the “list people” :) – I partly have that list to remind me of my achievements because only a fraction of the completed quilts is with me, as well as to be reminded of possibly forgotten projects in progress. I also like to give my readers a chance to quickly link to the kind of work I do rather than having to scroll through post after post of unrelated posts. I wish I could put photos up like I’ve seen on some non-blogspot blogs – maybe it’s possible on blogspot and I just haven’t figured it out? Hmmm. Too busy blogging and quilting to find out, *grins*.

Cheers,
Christine

Karen, I love your “Insanity” Dear Jane quilt!
I am a keeper of lists, though don’t have it posted on my blog. I use iGoogle to keep track of my list. It’s my home page on my PC at home and at work, and serves as my regular reminder. Works like a charm!

thanks for your input. I think later today (or this week) I need to go in the sewing room and take photo’s of the projects and make a list – this will be a good blog post!

I’m also one of the “list” makers and I think it does keep me motivated. Now I just need to regain some of the energy the flu robbed me of!

You did a beautiful job on your Dear Jane. Congratulations! I also like the antique look and can’t wait to wash my quilts the minute the last stitch goes in.

I keep lists of everything BUT my quilting, for that I just have piles in the guest bedroom. I think I need a better method too :0)
