That fruit cake sure looks good. Not like that typical nasty fruit cake you always hear being made fun of. Do you have the recipe listed someplace? I’d like to get it to my wife so she can bake one this holiday season.

What a lovely present from Marianne – you lucky girl! The last time I visited my local quilt shop I was perusing all the wonderful and colorful fabric packs with patterns attached and I thought what a great idea for a gift to give a quilter friend.
Love the look of that fruitcake too!

I just printed off the recipe to make this fruit cake, could you tell me please what “culinary thickener” is?? I shall have to substitute the Fiori di Sicilia as we don’t have it here, I think that real vanilla essence may do well . .

Your fruitcake looks yum-yum! My hubby just asked me last week to be sure to make a fruitcake by Christmas. Thanks for including the link to the recipe. I have too many projects to finish and would like to finish all of them before I start something new. But, there’s always the possibility I’ll take a break from the old and jump into something new! My BIL is in Kuwait, so would like to start and finish a quilt to give to him when he gets home in the spring. Of course, nothing that is started will do. Joyce.

Your fruit cake looks luscious! I like fruit cake but I’m the only one in the family so I’ve never made it…I made doughnuts tonight (a very Israeli Hanukah thing) but I lost my old recipe and these only came out so-so-not really good enough for all the work. I think I’ll just buy some next year.

I feel like I haven’t sewn in days-just a few yo-yos but no quilting. Tomorrow will be different!

wow, that cake looks fabulous! reminds me more of a French or German style than our UK (and possibly US?) heavy cakes: definitely going to try that recipe Karen! good luck with your many projects, I am a many things on the go kind of gal too, always thought it’s cos I am a Gemini, or a scatterbrain (same thing I guess!!)
