White Christmas

in Dear Jane - "Insanity Revisited", quilts, weather

christmas09We woke up to a white Christmas!  Not much mind you – but it is white :)   We rarely have a white Christmas so it is nice to look at even though it is such a little bit.

This is taken right from the door way - the wind was blowing all durning the night so we have a snow covered porch. It is only 23 degrees outside right now compared to the 54 for a high yesterday.

My cool new Christmas present from Mike - a Nikon Coolpix camera, it is a pretty light plum color and is small enough to fit in my pocket. Now to read the instruction manual and figure out how to use it. The battery charged overnight I used it to take the winter photos.

progress on the circles - about 60 of the 315 (or whatever that number was-it is written down someplace) so many cool colors in that sampler box to use.

I think this is block 7 in Row 9 of Insanity Revisited

these quilting photos are taken with the old camera, give me a couple days to get the new camera figured out :) I hope to have some good photos this year.

It is rainy and windy here in Indiana. Temp is falling but no white Christmas here. I enjoyed your photos. Merry Christmas!

thanks LuAnn – bet you will get snow soon – you are far enough north that you probably have it most of the winter.

Karen, What lovely snow photos! That was a Christmas present you could not even ask for and expect to get, right? We still have our snow from last weekend on the ground but today it has poured rain almost all day. Yuck! Not very pleasant at all although it has gotten rid of some of that ground snow. Your circles look very nice and extremely precise. I think you said you are appliqueing them, maybe reverse applique, right? This quilt is really going to be a beautiful scrap quilt. Lots of contrast and lots of wonderful colors!!!

A Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family,
NC Karen

Oh how I wish our snow looks like yours. The drift between our back door and the garage is many feet deep, I’ll post pictures later today. Just getting to the neighbors to borrow a snow plow will be interesting. I hope you and Mike had a nice pieceful Christmas…we did :0)

I’m glad I didn’t get as much snow as you did Crispy – I don’t have a snow shovel much less a snow plow :)

I am glad that you got to have a little bit of the snow that the rest of us have had to enjoy! Very pretty.

Your front porch looks inviting…even in the snow! Just catching up on some blog reading today. I like the scrappy circles you are making.
