Hmmmm, mine is a few years old, gets lots of pressing and cutting use and still lies flat (I've even put a new cover on it). It rests in my lap while I'm sewing and then I put it on top of my little thread cabinet when not in use. Maybe you have a very heavy hand when pressing LOL.

I found that even though it says it is for both pressing and cutting, the cutting mat doesn't really like the heat. I think those kind of mats are mostly to be used for going to class, etc., not for daily pressing.

I wonder how do you all store your pressing/cutting mat when not in use - after I press I wonder if I should turn it over lay on the pressing side? I usually leave the pressing side up. I think I am going to write to the company and ask them!

Can't say that I have had problems with mats or ironing boards. So I am no help in that arena. Your hand quilting is just gorgeous!

Oh do you think the fabric shrank?
I don't have one of those, just an ironing board and a tiny board that I got at goodwill.
My friend Helen has one and she's had it for years, and it's still flat...funny funny Marlene said leave in the sun to get really hot...yeah, in Arkansas, but not here in Canada at this time of year...funny girl!

Try putting it in the trunk of your car, cutting mat side down. Lay bricks or something equally heavy on the ends and let it stay in the sun and get really hot. Sometimes that will do it, sometimes not. blessings, marlene
