Dear Jane – Insanity Revisited

Dear Jane - "Insanity Revisited", weather

Yesterday I finished the last block for Row 9.   This quilt is coming along nicely.  I managed to really get some steady work done on it.  Which is a good thing because I doubt I will be working on it all that much for the next several weeks with too many other things that I am working on.

block 13 from Row 9 (this blocks background looks just a little lighter than it is. My lighting wasn't quite right in the house when I took the photo)

Here are the nine rows put together. In this photo the buttercream batik looks a little more yellow than it is. I tried to edit the color but couldn't quite get it right. I will need to work on that. You can go back to earlier post if you want to see the color better. It is lighter than that (not so yellow)

Yesterday before I went to the fitness center I pulled over and took some photos of the ice along the banks of the lake by the dike road.  There was a thin film of ice almost all the way across the lake which you normally do not see.  We do get ice along the banks off and on in the winter.  The temperature will be warming back up today – a balmy 35 degrees is going to feel down right warm after the temperatures we have had and the rest of the week in the mid to high 40’s!! Of course the next two or three nights are still going to be chilly around 20 I guess but that is better than the 12 it is right now.

the little trail along the bank is used my fisherman/women during a good part of the year there are people fishing here all the time.

I thought this one was so pretty how the ice is attached to the branch hanging over the water. The wind was strong enough several days that we had small whitecap waves in the water - normally it is very still except on stormy days of course

The IR is lookin’ so pretty. I love the pictures of the ice, really different formations. Our lakes are frozen solid and dotted with ice fishing huts….I don’t “get” that ice fishing thing…too dang cold!!

Hay Karen your DJ is moving along nicely love the colors so does your other daughter have her name on this one after you are done with it so they don’t fight over the other one. LOL couldn’t resist that question.

Your ice pictures are interesting that looks more like Oct here in Iowa.

Arlene this quilt will eventually go to my younger daughter Jessica – she isn’t as obsessive as Mel is though with the quilt so no pressure as to when she gets it 🙂

Wow, that quilt is looking great! I only have 56 blocks done yet and haven’t yet decided if I’m going to do the triangles. I love the colours on this one!

Heh Karen, as Crispy said, that is balmy weather for the Dakotas and for Ontario. We could possibly wear sandles…lol here.
Actually, when you start to warm up, we will also have January thaws as we usually do.
Lovely work as usual by the way and your photos are grand also.
