I am also a Charter Member of The Quilt Show but decided not to renew this year. I enjoyed the shows but found that there was alot of things shown that I had little interest in. I also found that I was not finding the time to watch all the episodes.

I am planning on doing that right now - tea is just about ready (now lets see if I will like that brand) and the book is waiting. I quilted for 30 minutes and need a break.

Hi Karen & nanci; Drop by any time; always nice to hear from another Canadian.

Karen - hope things are better today, but nanci's advice about the quilt, the tea, and the book is right on!

LOL oh Nanci thanks for the compliments but I am sure I have a lot to learn still. I am surprised that so few have commented on the quilt show though - I thought there would be more opinions.

Yeah, well, I know about cold as it's zero here in Whitby. It should warm by the end of the week. Just put a quilt on the lap, read, sip tea and let the season go by.
I even hate shopping when it's this cold and I have a garage to put the car into when I return, and....my sweetie will unpack it all too!

Nope to the subscription for me. I saw a couple of "free" shows and it just doesn't do it for my taste. I too am not a fan of Timms. I found it just too showy and I know that here in Canada, it's a lot more than that for the subscription! Now, I ask you, what would they teach you? You? I'd rather watch Sewing with Nancy for free and I always learn a bit from her and I like her!
You can also log on to Quilttv for free and get great ideas.

I am like Patchmaker...gotta see what she does... I like her statements. happy quilting

Hi, Karen; Sorry about your snow! As for The Quilt Show, I had one of the first subscriptions, and I let it lapse. There are a lot of great guests, ideas, etc., but I'm not a Ricky Timms fan in any way shape or form - just a personal thing - can't stand the man. After years of being a Simply Quilts junky, I found that Alex was "over-emoting" too much for my taste. Just my opinion. Don't send me hate mail ;-) I know lots of people love it.

Poor Karen, 1 degree is VERY cold no matter where you are but mostly for you folks in the south. Just pile on a bunch of quilts after your trip to the library and enjoy :0)

Karen, I guess that forecast isn't quite so normal for Arkansas. But yes, it is definitely colder here in the north. Makes you just want to stay inside and quilt lots. As far as your question about The Quilt Show, I have been a member since day 1 and love it. You can watch the shows at your leisure and they are fun to watch when you have the time. Quite inspirational. You also gain inspiration from other members. Yes, the price is worth just the BOM in and of itself. That is my humble opinion. But I think you can do it for a half year too, I think. That would be a great way for you to try it to see if you like what they have to offer.
