Star Crazy = March BOM

by Karen on March 14, 2010

in quilts, Star Crazy

Yesterday I got busy and made my blocks for the March assignment of the Star Crazy BOM.  The only part I find really tedious is pressing the half square triangles open.

These are from this months assignment.

What I have accumulated so far - lot's of different color combination's as it is a scrap quilt for me. There is of course always the possibility at the end when I put it together that I won't like a few pieces here and there and will make a couple extra blocks to replace. It always depend on the end results. This the last time I take a picture of all the blocks! Too much work getting out all those hst's!

I think thought once it is all put together it will just be as scrappy quilts are supposed to be – a mixture of scraps!  Even though I have used quite a bit of scraps I have not noticed any difference in the amount of scraps left in the boxes!

I think we all have the problem of reproducing scraps. Why doesn’t the pile ever get smaller?

Terrific job! I stopped posting my HST’s because there are just too many. I don’t blame you for not wanting to get them out. Isn’t it great to use up your stash?

Karen, hahaha Isn’t that the truth! No matter how much of your stash you use up, there does not seem to be any more room in the stash closet than there was before. I just finish a baby quilt top and was so proud of myself in that I did not buy any fabric. Is there a small gap om my fabric storage shelves? Nope!!! Oh well, at least I did not spend any money …… this time.

Great way to use up your stash. I’m sure it’s going to be a beautiful looking quilt when finished!

Great blocks Karen!! I think scraps just multiply….someday the world will be covered in our secretly reproducing scraps LOL.

I think scraps do multiply – in the night – and they well may take cover the world . . . I suppose non-quilters might have a problem with that???

This looks really nice!-a tantalizing glimpse-I wonder how all those half square triangles are going to be used in the final quilt.

I feel the same and that’s why I put my Eleanor BOM blocks away. Today, however, they are all on the wall again: completed the layout prior to sewing them together. Hope to get that done this week.
