Eye Candy

in quilts

The first Thursday night every month there is a local group of quilters that meet at the Senior Center for an evening of sewing (6:30 to 8:30).  The group is called “Cuttin’ Loose”.  (you do not need to be a senior to go there – we are all ages, some quite young)  It started as quite a small group and has grown by leaps and bounds!!  A lot of these ladies work so can not make it to the local guild or like me they do not want to belong to the guild for various reasons.  I think it started with about 15 of us about 4 years ago, tonight there must have been close to 25 ladies there.  You bring what you are working on either hand work or machine.  Some are beginners and a couple of the ladies are teaching them.  I do not go often as I do not like night driving and also because in the winter I hibernate :)   Tonight I went and we had a great show and tell so I thought I would share the photos of some of the quilts.  I did not get all the quilts which I regret but I had already put my camera away and was in the middle of quilting when I saw that more quilts were being displayed.

One of our ladies is so busy I think Dee  must be sewing 16 hours a day!  Here are some of her quilt tops, all need to be quilted.  I didn’t catch the names of them.  I think she said she has at least 15 tops that need to be quilted.

small colorful quilt - I did not see who's quilt this one was - sorry

I tend to go to this group more in the spring and summer when it stays lighter out.  In the winter I am in my sweats and curled up with a book or tv at 6:30.  I just do not get out much in the winter, like I say I tend to hibernate.  When it stays lighter out and the weather is warm I am in and out of the house all evening.
