I tell you I think old age is getting to me
First I was sick for 2 weeks with a bad cold, then I was out of town for 4 days constantly on the move, I feel like I need a whole week to recover!! I am so tired. Yesterday it seemed like I did nothing but lay around, this morning I was cutting grass and cutting some saplings that have overgrown in my wild garden area and I’m exhausted!! I need the rest of the afternoon to recover.
Late this afternoon I am meeting two Arkansas quilt blogger’s for pizza. This should be interesting. I will blog about it tonight or tomorrow.
I took a lot of family snap shots while I was visiting but I know they won’t mean anything to most of you but I do have a few family members popping on here from time to time so I am going to post a couple anyhow.
One day one of my many, many nieces met my sister, mom and I at the shopping center for lunch and a little shopping. This niece is my little sister's oldest child and her name is Culea she was home from college for a couple days but is now in Europe on a school trip. That is my mom in the photo with her.
why is it the ladies always tend to gather in the kitchen and the guys outside? This is just some of the many, many women in the family. 2 nieces, 2 sisters in law and two of my sisters.
part of the family.Red shirt is brother Mike supervising the barbecue being done by brother Larry, next to him is Larry' s son in law Sheldon and Meranda - Larry's daughter. In back of her is my nephew Dominic, sitting is a nephew John with the pony tail and another in law Josh (a nieces husband)
The second to the newest baby in the family. This is 3 week old GeGe being held by cousin Kristy. GeGe is my brother Pat's grandchild. Pat's s- son Tom & his wife had a baby boy one week after this one was born but he is in California so no picture of that one. The mother of this one is Pat's s-daughter Jasmine.
So many more photos but as I say they are family photos and I have many many shots of so many children you wouldn’t believe. As family gatherings go for us these were all small. On Friday evening 24 of us met at a buffet place for supper. On Saturday we met at our brother Larry’s house and 32 gathered. On Sunday afternoon at my little sister’s house 26 of us made it there. Right now counting all of my nieces & nephews, sisters, and brothers and our mom, all of the in-laws, all of my siblings step-children and step-grandchildren, we have 81 members in our family – I Think!! it is hard to keep track — now you see why I have stopped making baby quilts for family – I can’t keep up.
Now I will be back to quilting and creating – I hope. No more plans for any trips or family gatherings for awhile now. We have the next six weeks or so for working on the yard and the house before hopping in the motorhome for travel.

So glad you are recovering. We have had that head/chest cold for a long while as well. It’s a real cling-on. Wears ya right out.
Your newest addition is oh so sweet! Looks like you had a wonderful time:)
Blessings
What great pictures, Karen! Some days I think it would be nice to have a big family, but then I give my head a shake and move on!

Karen, you’re going to pass out on us tonight! It’s a good thing we’re meeting early! I’m glad you’re feeling better, but I’m sorry you’re so tired!
I envy you your large family, I think that is just awesome! As much as Jim and I enjoy traveling and moving around, we always regret that we can’t be near our families.

Wish I had only 1/4 of such a big family! LOL Hubby has one brother and two sisters, but we don’t see them more than a couple of times per year, even if they live close by. Gatherings are lots of fun, but tiring too. After the bad cold you had – and the gathering – you surely need some days rest! Take care!

The pics of your mom brought tears to my eyes. My mom has been with the LORD a little over two years now. My sisters and I looked after her the last few years, and I have precious memories of those times just getting out or watching the Music Man, my mom’s favorite, and her enjoying our kids, her precious grand kids. You are a good daughter to be sure. Bless you.
Great family photos Karen, I love seeing family photos :0) We don’t have nearly that many people in my family, but we make as much noise as 81 would LOL.
