Farmers Market in Jackson, WY

We had seen some signs the other day that said Jackson had a farmer’s market Saturday mornings so we thought we would check it out.  I deliberately did not buy veggies yesterday because of that.  I was not disappointed.

The veggies were a little pricey I thought but we do not need much as I don’t have much storage space.  I got enough green beans for our meal tonight, some lettuce mix, a tomato, cucumber, two ears of corn for tomorrow and a lovely small loaf of whole wheat walnut bread – the bread was so soft, normally I find it crustier.  It was delicious and we have eaten all but two slices of it today!  What pigs we are.

For our meal tonight I made up chicken breast, salad, green beans and bread.  I should have taken a photo so you can see what wonders can be whipped up in a tiny camper kitchen!  LOL

I have been doing a lot of cooking outside and in aluminumfoil envelopes that I make up from a box that I have of the foil – less dishes to clean up!

The day started out with a little bit of rain and plenty of clouds!  Here is the small farmers market – less than I thought it would be but nice of what was there.

So many wonderful flowers sold in bouquets and large hanging baskets.

And what every tourist town needs – public parking and rest rooms – nice building.

After lunch we wandered through the art show that was taking place this weekend.  I had to get a photo of this bed that was for sale from the artist that does wood carving, the hat on the post is all part of the post made out of wood and the foot post are both cowboy boots.  I thought it quite unique!  I just noticed that you can see me in the mirror in the corner of the photo and I got Mike taking a photo as well.

I LOVE that bed!!!

Could you buy it, dismantle it, and bring it back to Chicago for
me? *L*

Of course, I’d need a cowboy IN it too……

I’ve been enjoying your trip and sharing it with my husband. He said “It looks like a pretty nice trip. Do you do any flyfishing?”

Thanks for the beautiful pictures.

What a cool western bed and the market looked like a lot of fun.

I love farmer’s markets. I’m patiently waiting for corn to be ready to pick….The Dawson family grows the best tasting corn in our area and if I don’t get to their truck quickly it’s all gone!!

That bed is SO cool! What a conversation piece, LOL!
Farmer’s markets are fantastic. When in the state, we’ve pretty much always been in the midwest, and only near very small markets, but oh how I loved the open air markets overseas!
