Grand Teton National Park

Just a short post to let you all know that we moved on.  We left Pathfinder a day early because of the heat and the wind – the wind for two days was much stronger than we liked, it was so strong that you barely felt like being outside.  I actually felt my chair move while I was sitting in it!! That is how strong the wind was.

I have several post scheduled to post tomorrow one in the morning and one in the evening but I wanted to share a few photos with you now. (today is the 14th,evening – I know I might be getting some of you confused with some post scheduled to post on days when I wasn’t sure if I would have a signal – cell signal and the internet signal are spotty in the park so I’m not sure if I will be on often or not)

This is a composite of several photos that Mike took to get the whole scene in.  The bike path is curved because of the composite.

Shortly after we got in the park this is what we saw:

Both of the above photos are from Mike – my little camera does not have a good zoom for taking distance shots and the one I got of the moose was not good!  Luckily I can get them from him pretty fast with computers.

Our campsite has wild roses, and about 4 or 5 other kinds of flowers growing in it.

This is a view from a short walk we took earlier today.  We are staying here for 7 days so there will be a lot more of these to post!  Hopefully more animals too.

Now I am going to get ready for bed so I can get up early and see if we can spot more animals and plan a hike also.  By the way it is supposed to be in the low 30’s tonight and is already down to 51!

It’s beautiful!!!!! Enjoy those chilly temps; we are still having upper 90′s on the east coast.

Cool weather is great for an early morning hike. I love the scenery you are enjoying!

Ooo love the Grand Tetons and the Moose. My brand new car gasped and quit at the top of the Tetons when my son was 8 and we were on a road trip. We were surrounded by buffalo. A wonderful man stopped to help us and explained that the elevation makes the carburator gasp for air. After letting the car rest all was fine. Sam was intrigued with the way the man’s pockets were moving. He was catching crickets to go fishing LOL.

Oh how beautiful. Sure wish we were there camping with you and Mike. My husband would have loved to have seen a bull moose like that when we were there. Have fun and can’t wait to see more wildlife pictures.

Now that looks like heaven. I’d stay for a week two. Maybe even a month, other than the snow will be flying by then! 30 degrees… oh could you please send a bit of that back home?
