It has been awhile since Mike worked up the map of our trip but last night he did so here it is:
All of the “pins” indicate places that we camped at. We left home on July 2nd and got I back yesterday August 21. I’m not sure how many miles we put on the camper and then on the car also. We really noticed much better gas and diesel mileage in the north and the west then we get here at home which was strange. Our Honda car at home normally gets about 22 miles to the gallon – it is six years old and over 125,000 on it. I assumed the mileage was not as good as it used to be because it was getting old – in the north and west however it was ranging between 28 and 31 miles per gallon. The motor home which is diesel engine in averaged between 12 and 18 I believe that is towing the Honda.

What a trip!! That is definitely a ton of territory covered. Wonderful memories and wonderful photos. Funny how your car got mileage.

For our journey out west, we rented a Dodge Advantage, which should average about 26 to 28 MPG we were told. Out there, climbing mountains and slopes most of the time, we got 37 to 38 MPG. We wondered if it had to do with the altitude? We have an older Grand Marquis, which we didn’t want to put more miles on and I have a new Suzuki Grand Vitara which only gets about 20 MPG around here and we didn’t want to pay for all the extra gas plus putting miles on it. Looks like the Dodge was a good choice.
Glad you are home and will be able to settle in soon to some quilting. Thanks for the ‘trip’. Looks like you all got a good storm yesterday evening. Hope so as we are all dry.
Wow you certainly covered a LOT of miles!!
