Give Away!!

quilts

GIVE AWAY IS NOW CLOSED

Time to celebrate blogging 1,000 times in 4 years.  Now keep in mind I am not a sponsored blog – what I give away is strictly from me, from my stash of fabric and patterns.  I have been collecting patterns for such a long time that after awhile I do know if I really do not ever think I will ever make a quilt from one.

So I have chosen 2 patterns from my stash – I bought both of these about 4 years or so ago and have never used.

Also last year I ordered a layer cake of Christmas fabric from Connecting Threads thinking I would have more red and green solids to use in my applique but ended up with a lot of prints that I don’t care for – I do not like Christmas prints all that much – but what I don’t care for others love!!  I am more of a solids or mostly solid kind of person Smile

So if you want to try to win these 2 patterns and 15 – 10 inch Christmas prints please enter my give away.

006

THE RULES:

For one chance leave me a comment telling me what country or state you live in – just my curiosity at work wondering where my readers are from Smile

For a second chance leave another comment telling me that you have blogged about the give away.

This is an open give away – I don’t mind mailing out of the United States seeing as I do not do it often.

The give away closes one week from today on Saturday morning when I wake up the 28th of May

(You must have a way for me to contact you! I have to have a valid e mail address from you – you must fill in your e mail address when you leave a comment – this is something only I see – it is not there for everyone to see unless you put the address in the comment itself.  I see this happen on so many blogs when someone wins and they have no way to contact someone and the prize has to go to someone else)

(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

    Wonderful treasures! Count me in!

Hi Karen…I am from New Jersey. I enjoy reading your blog every day. I do not have my own blog, so I don’t know if that eliminates me from trying to win your give-away, but I thought I’d give it a try anyway. I am amazed at how fast you can piece a quilt together by hand. I have tried hand-piecing but just can’t keep a straight line going.

  • Mary Lou May 21, 2011

Love that applique pattern!! 🙂 And congratulations on 1000 posts! I can’t imagine (I don’t think I’ve reached 100 yet! :-P)!! I understand about fabric preferences…and solid or print, you produce beautiful work!

I am from Martin, Georgia (USA) and I dont blog. I love your blog and check it every day. As far as your “going in circles” quilt is concerned… I still love it and you have inspired me to make my own circles quilt although the latest title has been suggested as “Going in Circles” since I have figured out that I will need over 1100 circles appliqued… which will include a double row of circles all around the quilt. I figured I will need 192 blocks (6″) and I have 6 done… onward and onward… I bought one box of the moda sampler and will need at least one more but I really like how it is going… thanks for your ideas…and I love your patchwork sampler quilt that you are now doing…maybe I will do one some day but now I shall concentrate on the ones I am working on and my circles.

  • Becky (central oregon) May 23, 2011

I love the design on the wall this morning… I have been cutting up scraps to 2 1/2 inch squares and trying to do it so no fabric ( besides the white) is used more then once…
For a full size quilt thats a lot of different fabrics!
I have the red, blues and greens cut from my scrap stash and getting ready to start on the purples…. Yes I am cutting more then one block of each color/ color…. but those will do into another quilt I am playing with in my head…. I play with lots of quilts in my head…you too?

I live in Ontario, Canada in a small settlement area of about 1000 people.

That dragonfly pattern is lovely. I also am not big on traditional Christmas prints, but some of the new ones in none red and green appeal to me. I took a class with a surprise project and it happened to be fairly traditiona Christmas prints. I gave it to my brother in law as a gift. It was very appreciated at his house.
