EDITED: 9/19/11 evening – the repairman made it out to our campsite in the afternoon and all is fixed – and it didn’t even cost an arm and a leg!! – I haven’t a clue I am not a mechanic but something to do with the brake pedal and whatever it touches up against when you press on the pedal – some connection was not being made to have the brake lights on the camper come on.  All well now though and we are on our way to Arches National Park next door to Moab, Utah.  I doubt there will be cell service so no internet – if there is I will be surprised.  I have scheduled several post through the 22nd – talk to you all later!

From what we did on 9/18/11

What a gorgeous place this is.  You should see all the rock formations and the hiking trails.  I wouldn’t even attempt any of these trails in the summer time with the blistering heat that is here at that time of year.  Yesterday though we had gorgeous weather and took several hikes.

This is the first trail we decided to do yesterday morning.  We thought we followed the directions and we followed trail markers but somehow ended up above the area we were supposed to be in – pretty just the same.

Nice and easy at the beginning and very easy to follow.

Beautiful Rocks

A wash from the previous two nights of rain.

A balanced rock.

And some how here we are at the top looking down at the place we were supposed to end up in – how the heck did that happen? On the way back down we discovered the turn we missed but it was not well marked at all. We got to see some pretty scenery though and no chance of losing our way as we could find our way back just fine.

We hope to include some of the areas you are in on our “road trip” which will include driving Route 66 from Illinois (starting point) all the way to the west coast and then through the Colorado area, Grand Canyon, etc. in 2013. Just got back from Alaskan cruise and sights were too beautiful to describe! Enjoying “being along” with you on your trip! Beautiful pictures!
