Well last post I left you just as we were getting ready to hike – a one mile loop – the first 3rd of the trail was nice and easy the 2nd third was almost straight up rock! and the last part was all down hill.
Crossing the bridge at the very beginning of the trail – a small stream runs under it and is fed by a spring and has been there for years and years.

The first of steps – many many steps like usual ![]()

There must have been at least 6 foot bridges to cross that criss-cross the creek.

Warning signs – I don’t know about you but when I see a snake on a sign I pay attention!

The first glimpse of the ruins

Up hills from here

Almost there

We arrived at the dwellings surprised to find a park volunteer there – Bob – he was ready to give a tour to anyone who showed up by 1:00 – we were there about 12:30 so we waited around for others to show up and got a bit of information from Bob – about the Century plant and the area – nice guy he had tons of information about the place and was a really nice guy.

The dwellings on the next post
so many photos to go through

Great pictures. They make me feel like I’m (almost) there with you! We will have to put the Gila Dwellings on our to-do list.

What beautiful trails. Love the bridges. It makes me want to cross it. Was that a diamond back rattler on that sign?
