Some Old Stuff

quilts

Happy New Year everyone!  Not much going on here for the beginning of the new year – we stayed home last night and I was in bed before midnight – not much of a night owl.

Yesterday I got more work done on both quilts and they are progressing. Slowly but progress.  This much of the row is added to Joseph’s Coat – I will work on it some more later today.  This newest addition is several shades of red but in this photo it looks brown to me – what can I say – it is all in the lighting.

Star Crazy – half the row is complete:

I don’t know how much sewing/quilting I will do today – I do believe I am getting my first winter cold – hopefully it won’t be much – who can tell, just don’t quite feel right today.  If it is a cold I will skip the Thursday night quilt group and the Friday morning quilt group – I never fell like I should share a cold.  We will see – maybe it is nothing.

I just finished a book by an author I had never read before – Douglas Kennedy – the book “The Pursuit of Happiness”  it left me wanting to find more of his books.  I’m not sure when I loaded this book on my kindle but I know it was when it was a freebie or a couple dollars – I have so many on my kindle that I get for free, load them when you can – read them when you can and if you don’t like them you don’t have to read them!  So often a book is only free for a couple days – then it goes up in price.  It is a good thing to look every couple days and see what is being offered.

I was browsing blogs this afternoon and came upon yours. Just wanted to let you know how much I admire your Joseph’s coat, gorgeous! I started one once and gave up. I looked over your tut and may give it another try, your directions seem very clear.

Love all your quilts, nice blog.

Wishing you all the best in the new year!

Your Star Crazy quilt is gorgeous. I love it along with your Going in Circles Quilt. Do you have quilting plans for 2012? Or do items just come along that you start? Happy New Year.

Very good progress, Karen! I went to bed before midnight too, did some reading; Hotel New Hampshire – John Irving. It’s an old book, but that doesn’t matter to me since I haven’t read it before. Impossible to sleep before one hour or so after midnight, firecrackers and noise everywhere! :(
    HAPPY NEW (QUILTING) YEAR!
