When In Doubt

When in doubt about color – try two selections!!!  I wasn’t sure with the pinwheel quilt if I wanted the gray border or the light green border that I showed yesterday — before adding the patchwork squares for the outside edge.  My first thought had been the gray – but I thought with all the dark colors maybe a light color would be better –

The green – all the borders are just pinned up there for audition

The gray:

I think the color flows better with the gray don’t you?  I had really thought I wanted the green until I started to put the patchwork strips up there to see what it looked like – and then it was like “yuk” – the gray it will be.

I think the binding will be gray also.

I like the gray, too! I think it frames it better. The whole quilt is looking wonderful.

Beautiful, no doubt about your choice, the dark gray is ok. The contrast with the white background makes blocks stand out.
It’s true that comparing makes it easier to judge.

I think the gray helps all of the other colors to pop out.

Seeing the two pictures next to each other made the choice obvious for me. Grey it is! Good idea to audition both choices.

Hi – The darker shade provides better contrast. May I suggest an inner border and binding in red or a dark blue? There are so many cheerful, vibrant colors in this quilt, they need a solid frame. I’m partial to red as its very traditional. :)

Chris I already have the patchwork for the final border sewed together so no more borders for this one.

I vote for the gray too! :) It makes the colors pop more, compared to the green…

I really thought the green when you showed them yesterday. But, as I see them put together–definitely the gray. Totally changes the look of the blocks.

Yep, the gray! Really makes things stand out with the pieced border following it. What a nice quilt this is going to be!
