Star Crazy

in quilts, Star Crazy

I managed to get in a little time on Star Crazy yesterday and today.  Finally!  I have made some progress but I am not at the half way point yet – maybe by the end of the weekend if I keep at it.  This evening I will work on Joseph’s Coat also – it will be nice to get that pink row put together – a lot of pieces to put together though before I add the row to it.

This much left to do before I roll it down some more.  When I roll it down I will be half finished hand quilting this quilt!

Last night at the quilt group it was so easy to grab the box of triangles as I was leaving the house and I worked on it last night – no big bags or hoops and quilts to grab – it made it easy.  I didn’t really get done with a lot Smile but it was nice visiting with Regina and all the others.  There are actually several in this group that hand piece besides me and Regina – it is so nice to see others doing hand work and know it is not a dead art!  Taking this box is easy but I will always need to make sure I keep plenty of cut out pieces in it otherwise I will need to take a rotary cutter, ruler and mat with me as well as fabric to cut out.  I want to keep it as easy as possible and to have all my tools in the box and ready to go – that makes it so much easier than hunting down items and forgetting something.

I took a walk this morning at the trails – the weather was very windy but nice – it has actually cooled off a little bit since then and is cooler now than at 7 AM.  Flowery trees and turtles!

Turtles – no alligators today (I have actually only seen one once but always prepared with my camera – just in case)

Have a great day everyone and I hope your weekend is good.  In Wisconsin my daughter near Madison and aunt in Green Bay are having snow storms – Jes I hope it won’t be a bad one – the kids will have fun tomorrow when the snow stops – Aunt Bev stay inside and stay warm!

Any of my readers in the stormy south and east – I hope for no wind damage and no tornados for you all!!

I know what you mean about it being nice to have a quick, easily portable project. I’m doing that with a hexagon quilt I started last year around this time when I was pregnant. I love working on it, but haven’t had much time to make much progress since the baby was born. I got it out the other day though and am inspired to keep at it. Your triangle project is coming along nicely. What a great way to use up scraps. And it must be gratifying to reach the half way point on the quilting. One of these days I’m determined to hand quilt one of my own!

I know I would much prefer to meet a turtle than an alligator! Hope it stays that way.
Lovely to see all the signs of Spring appearing. So far we are still a little early here for the leaves to be turning for Autumn, but we are having cooler nights. Love that.
