A Little Progress

in quilts, Red & Green Traditional Applique

Yesterday I just was not in a quilting mood for most of the day.  I did get a little quilting on Joseph’s Coat done – not much though.  I got part of a POTC block completed.

Mainly I worked on some more flowers for the Red and Green and I read a lot!

On my screen once again the flowers look more orange than red – again the lighting – the flowers are red – trust me on that.  The 4 large flowers are complete and I have enough small flowers complete for one side.  So that leaves me with 9 small flowers to make.

Maybe I will feel like quilting today?  Sometimes I am just not in the mood.

How about all of you do you find that some days you just can’t get into it?  I think if I would do quilting / sewing every day it would start to feel like a job and I don’t want it to get like that!!

I really think it’s more the hot weather…..I know I feel ‘held in’, at the moment, cuz of the extreme humidity/heat outdoors…ugh! Kinda “mopey”. Reading seems to be my activity of choice, also! The flowers are coming along so nicely! Have a wonderful (productive?) day….enjoy! Hugs, D

Yep, I’m at that place in the road right now. I have a baby quilt that my daughter pieced and I so need to get it under the needle to quilt. I only have two more weeks to finish it. Once I get it started, I’ll be okay, but it is the getting started!!

Did you get any of the rain that went through here last evening? It looked like it might be heading your way.

Okay, I’m going to wind the lime green bobbins and that should spark the ‘get to it’ mode!!!

No, no problems here with quilting every day. In fact, I don’t feel like all’s right with the world on the days when I can’t quilt. Perhaps I don’t have troubles quilting every day because for 25+ years, I worked full time and got very little quilting done (too many other priorities during my time away from work).

I am with you on this thought too, Karen. Sewing/quilting every day would make me feel like I am working in a factory somewhat. I need to space it out with other things. Plus, as Doreen said, the heat and humidity seem to take their toll on me and even though I am in AC, just walking the dogs and running errands takes most of my energy and drains it. Really looking forward to an early Fall but I doubt that is going to happen. Still, I can’t complain especially with all the craziness that is going on around the country.

Yep, the creative juices leave me periodically. Especially if I have a deadline.
