What with the weather being as it is I have gotten a bit done this past week.

The first applique border is complete on the Red and Green quilt – not really much different from other  photos that I have shown as the threads match so closely but here is a photo anyhow.  I haven’t worked on it all today – I quilted a little bit on Joseph’s Coat but really not all that much.  I have been reading a lot lately but I have been quilting to Downton Abbey on Netflix.  I don’t remember who suggested that show to me – there where several I think.  I am really enjoying it!  I love the snobbery on that show – who would have thought the servants could actually if possible at times be more of snobs than the gentry.

#15 of Patchwork of the Crosses.  I have another started.

I thought I would have watched more of the Olympics than I have – I have actually watched very little since it started.  Maybe tonight?

101 degrees and counting – we are lucky here on the ridge and not as hot as in town I am sure.

I haven’t had time to post yet.Got home from town a bit ago….Houston Hoedown Days……and rain!!! In the middle of one of the driest summers on record and it rains on the biggest day of the 3 day celebration!!!!! Everyone is quite thankful and is not sure of the impact on the corn-yet. The parade went on as scheduled at noon today and all were lining the streets (with umbrellas). The horsepull was cancelled, though. It’s cool (72) and for that we are thankful, also! Your quilt is beautiful and am so fascinated by those cross blocks. Remain in prayer for all who are sharing in this difficult summer weather. Hugs, D

The border looks very ‘airy’ and beautiful. Is it a British show you are watching?

I really liked watching Downton Abbey as I worked on a quilt project, too. In fact we just gave season 2 to our Sister In Law as a thank you gift.
