Some Quilts

quilts

Last night there was a small group of us for quilting.  I think the heat kept some people home, some are on vacation – the way it is in summer for all of us.

Here are some of the quilts shown:

Some of the group made quilts from this pattern a year and a half ago or so – this particular quilt is hand quilted by the maker so it wasn’t finished quickly like some of them where – I apologize to whoever made this quilt – I can’t remember your name – sorry – I am so bad at names.  I see most of these ladies only once a month or two and have a poor memory for names.

The same lady is making this top – she has one more border to add, this one will be machine quilted by someone as she says it is a present that is needed by Christmas and she knows she wouldn’t be able to finish it in time.

I brought my Star Crazy and Pineapple Square to show as I missed the group last month.

A cute baby quilt by a rather new lady to the group – Anice

another that I don’t know who made – sorry – we need to wear name tags!!  Just back from the long arm quilter and given back to the maker of the top.

That was it.  I left at 8 PM and it was still 102 degrees outside!!  We had notices from the water company delivered yesterday letting all know that we are now on mandatory water conservation – NO outside watering allowed – I guess now we wait and see what survives and what doesn’t.  Dish water and shower water will have to do – I will try to water what is closest to the house.

Love, love, love the picture of Star Crazy. That’s the first time I think I have seen the whole thing. It’s fabulous!! Love the curves on the corners. Great job!

I love all those quilts. We are all so different aren’t we? It was a matter of time for you to have water restrictions. Here in Ontario we have fire restrictions because of the lack of rain. It is hot…because it is summer.

That first quilt is wonderful … both the design and the quilting. Looks like something you would have stitched. And of course you already know that I love your Star Crazy quilt. I have tried to convinced “Mom” to get it and send it to me but she just won’t steal from you. hehehe Seriously, the water problem seems to be happening in a lot of places now. We have been getting a few showers here and there but mostly it seems to be just north or south of us. We are on a well so we need to police ourselves. Thankfully we did not lose our power like they did north of us in VA. I truly feel for all of those without power in this extreme heat. How did the settlers in the south ever cope with this kind of heat?

Such an inspiring line up of quilts! Have always thought that rounded corners added so much! The rain continues to be tracking across the northern third of MN or just south of us a bit in Iowa. Haven’t mowed lawn in weeks! Only 90F at the moment! Wet thoughts to all!!!!! Blessings, D
