Up and Running

in Lucy Boston--Patchwork of the Crosses, quilts

Mike got my new computer/notebook (I guess the difference depends on the size of the laptop?)  up and running last night and this morning.  I find that process very frustrating as I know nothing about computers and I want everything to be the same as it was–only working!!

Last night I finished the center of the new POTC block – by that I mean all but the last ring of white pieces that finish it off – I have to cut more pieces – it sure does use a lot.

It is hot again today.  I spent part of the morning outside on the porch and watering a few plants but I do wonder how much will die off this summer or are they just going dormant – I guess I will just have to wait and see.

I think this afternoon I will be quilting, cutting more pieces for the POTC quilt and reading and watching old shows on Netflix– this is getting to be my routine in this hot, hot summer.

I hope you are all having a good weekend – I know some of you are probably without power from that harsh storm that swept across some of the states – if you have lost power I hope it won’t be for long.

I’m really enjoying these blocks. A honeycomb quilt is on my to-do list when I ever finish my hexie quilt.

This is one of my faves!!! The colors are gorgeous! Hot, hot, hot!!! and no rain!!! Because our well requires 2 pumps….1 to pump into a cistern and then 1 to pressurize the system and get the water from the cistern to the faucet…..watering extensively has never been possible. Our plantings have to be TOUGH!!! Anyhow, temps are 93F with humidity in the upper 80′s%…Ugh! Will pack the camper later and head out to my brother’s place at a lake near Luck, WI. Temps are supposed to be the same but there’s lots of shade AND a lake!!!!!! Later…hugs, D

thanks! I like this one too – the light color blocks will help balance the bright color blocks.
