Progress on X Marks the Spot.  Hard to get photos of quilting though, I find it really hard to get the quilting to show up in photos!  Right now I would say 12 out of 49 X’s are quilted so moving along.  I have not been working on this as much as I would like to though.  I have been in more of a reading mode I guess.  I normally quilt while watching tv and as we had such a long hot summer I got a lot of quilting done on Joseph’s Coat in June & July and by time August got here I was so totally bored with tv that I have not been watching much and therefore not getting much done on quilting this month.

I am not putting a lot of quilting in on this quilt.  When I get done if it looks like it needs more I will outline around the X’s but only if it looks like it really needs it.

  1. Looks like the quilting is coming along nicely on this quilt. Glad to see that the finger is healing also. Oh and your latest started quilt is great. Love the colors and design in that block you just finished.

TV has really gotten boring for me also except for the reruns of Foyle’s War on PBS. I pretty much don’t like any of the shows on TV anymore. Guess they are geared more for the younger crowd or so-called reality lovers (although I always hope none of what they show is “reality” because it is so disturbing). I am waiting for the new season of shows especially NCIS and the Mentalist. Otherwise, we seem to only be watching Netflix streaming British mysteries. Sometimes I think I could live totally without TV.

  2. Very pretty; I just can’t quilt in a hoop!
TV is like a big unwanted guest to me. Too much news for our own good. We watch several shows on RFDTV which are farm related.

  3. It’s looking lovely!
If Karen L. (first comment) likes ‘Foyle’s War’ I’d recommend ‘Inspector George Gently’ and ‘Midsomer Murders’! (And ‘Lewis’ but that goes without saying!)

  4. Hi Karen,

Love X Marks the Spot. Your fabric is so pretty. I never seem to put the right shade of colors together. I, also, quilt in the same hoop. It is so relaxing for me.

Another Foyle’s War fan here. I watch all the reruns. In fact, I love all the British Mysteries on PBS. Take care of that finger.

  5. I am always please to see progress in hand quilting done by you. I love this pattern by the way. It looks simple but so effective. you are moving along more quickly than I expected when I went on holiday.

  6. Gee, you are really moving along. Almost everything I watch is on Netflix.

  7. I love your quilting “pattern” choice…..so “old fashioned” and perfectly complements the piecing! Our days have ‘flipped’ back to oven-like…….95F at the moment and super windy! Humidity almost non-existent! Huge burn warnings out for the whole area! Went to the MN State Fair today……only 92F there!!!! I think my brain cells have taken a ‘hit’….LOL!
