The leaves are turning to fall colors and beginning to fall off the trees.  We have a long way to go though before we have full fall here at our house.  We still have a lot of green.  After the drought of summer I wonder what kind of fall colors we would have – I didn’t think it would be a pretty fall but the weatherman last night said that normally after a drought you have better than average color – go figure.

I still have roses.  It has not gotten really cold at night for more than a couple nights so far and we didn’t have a freeze – not even close to it.  These are more like a wild rose – not full body long stem roses.

My ferns are still really nice in their hanging baskets as well.

Yesterday I stopped at the grocery store for a few things and saw some wonderful flower bouquets at the front of the store that had such lovely fall colors in them that I had to buy one.

Binding is coming along – 2 sides done on X Marks the Spot.  The binding is machine stitched down on the Triangle quilt as well – but one at a time for the hand stitching.

Have a good weekend everyone.

  1. So love that binding (knew that I would!!). The Fall colors, here, were amazing so there must be something to that thought about the colors/drought. Here, the fog is just lifting and the trees are pretty much bare;-( Thank you for posting your beautiful flower, end of summer photos!!

  2. Hi Karen, thanks for visiting my blog. Yes I am doing the Quilted Diamonds 2. I did a dear Jane and the Sylvia Bridal Sampler back to back lol. I have read through your old posts and saw the dear Janes. Lovely. I did those 2 a few years ago. Each took about 11 months to do by machine. I am learning to hand piece with the Diamonds and am enjoying it much much more then the machine piecing. This quilt will be for me (I hope lol) so am taking my time.
