I will be posting several times a day for the next week as I get in vacation post in the afternoon and quilting post in the morning – I will get it all done sooner or later Smile

I am now done with the center of Common Bride – it will get put aside for a little bit while I work on the applique for the Bow Tie Medallion border.

The Square – I will get back to work on this next month if not before!

The border work has begun for the Bow Tie quilt.  I have one flower made – what progress – how many more to go?  The flower is 2 1/2 inches and is made from 7 – 1/2 inch hexies.  Not my neatest work – I will have to work on that – these are English Paper Piece so you can see the stitching there–the ends are basted down right now as I took the hexie pieces out from the back.

I will be playing with this border a bit as I make the flowers – there will be some stems – either applique or embroidery I’m not sure yet and some leaves, buds ect.  Mainly this will be in one corner and then I think I might do something different on the opposing corner – still hexies but different.

  1. Oh my….that is a small hexie flower!!!!! 1/2 the size of the ones I am working on! The “Common Bride” center piece is so beautiful! Moving along nicely!

  2. Very teeny hexie flowers…the smaller the more cute things seem to be.

  3. That Common Bride block is just beautiful!!! So many pieces too. Yikes! And those hexies …. wow, are they ever small! Makes my fingers ache just looking at them. Guess you have been following Bonnie Hunter’s hexie project? She made a bzillion of them but I don’t think they are as small as yours. These would be a great carry along project, I suppose.
