My daughter has a weekly link up for recipes – Wonderful Food Wednesday –her blog is At Home Take Two I thought I would link up this week, I don’t always have a recipe and photo ready– run on over and see all the wonderful recipes and links that are there.
I guess this might be an odd combination but I had a recipe for Banana bread but didn’t have enough bananas – I was too lazy to go to the store once again so I decided to totally revamp this recipe – now it is totally mine – it was good – so I’m sharing ![]()

Apple Banana Bread
Makes 1 loaf — heat oven to 350 degrees – Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes then check, bake longer if needed, check every 5 minutes (ovens vary)
1 cup flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup oil ( used canola)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 large egg
1 ripe banana
1 cup applesauce ( I used my chunky homemade canned applesauce – any will do)
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup sour cream
Cream together – sour cream, water, applesauce, banana, egg, vanilla and oil until creamy. Then add all of the dry ingredients. Pour into a well greased loaf pan – I use Pam Spray with the flour in it.

Bake and enjoy! I loved the combination of flavors in this.
I did finish Joseph’s Coat last night!!! I got it off the frame and need to get the sides all trimmed and I will post later today with some photos – binding is next!! But before I get to the binding I will get the Bow Tie Medallion quilt on the frame. I will post photo’s of that as well ![]()

That looks delish! My hubby would get suspicious of me if I bought sour cream, he does not like it at all.
