All the applique is done now on the Bow Tie Quilt.  I am adding a little embroidery here and there for accent.  I am working on the corner first and then will go up each border.  I am not planning on adding a lot so it should be done within a couple days if I spend time this weekend off and on working on it.

At the same time I am of course quilting on Joseph’s Coat – I spent 3 1/2 hours off and on the last two days working on it and have made great progress.

This is where I left off last night.  About 2 to 3 more hours and I will be ready to crank her down again and get started on the last section.  I might get done with this by the middle of the upcoming week at this rate.

I got notice a couple days ago that my shipment from Hancock’s has been shipped and it should arrive on Monday or Tuesday.   The backing and batting are on the way for the Bow Tie quilt.   I think I really well be able to take one quilt off of the frame and get the next one on it right away!  Of course it will take a little while to get the binding done on Joseph’s Coat so I won’t be able to say it is really finished until I take it out of the washing machine and put it in the dryer! But soon Smile

Have a great weekend everyone and I sure hope progress is made out east quickly– I really do feel for all the people out there that have suffered from so much damage, let’s hope they at least get the power back up soon so at least they can have some heat in their homes – those that still have homes that is.

  1. That embroidery really looks pretty! It is a wonderful accent and completes the applique so well. Have a great weekend!

  2. The embroidery looks great, it looks more ‘complete’. Great progress on JS’s too. My heart goes out to all those who were affected by ‘Sandy’. I do wonder how our cyclone season will be…. Scary to think of. Wonderful weekend to you!

  3. Looking good, Karen! In regards to your previous post, I just ordered my first batiks, Hoffman Handpaints and Laundry Basket Batiks, at $10.00 yard from the Stitching Post. They try to fit ten yards in an International envelope for $19.00 which helps. Recently I contacted the Fabric Warehouse and they will only put five yards in for $19.00.Besides I was after SSI Compliments for a son’s quilt and they had it. So, and excellent buy you had!!!

  4. The embroidery ‘softens’ the motif and seems to look more ‘fluid’. I know that adding tendrils seem to please the eye. Lovely work on all……
