Patchwork of the Crosses

Lucy Boston–Patchwork of the Crosses, quilts

I am back to work on a POTC block – still up in the air as to how big this quilt will be.  I guess I will just work on it when I want to and add a row at a time and see what happens.

Thanks for the complements on the pillow.  Yes I guess as some of you said it is not something you see from me – I’m assuming you mean because I normally do not make smaller items?  Over the years I have made pillows now and then – just not often, also things like tote bags – yes normally I make quilts only.  But it is nice to make something else now and then for a change.

Almost all of our snow is gone now after two days of off and on rain, as I look out the window here by the computer I am surprised to see just a little snow left over – I really thought it had all melted.  We are to be back in the 40-50 range of temperatures this week though so I think it will all disappear today.

I most likely won’t get done with much of any quilting today – back to the fitness center today for exercise after very few work outs this past 10 days – I’m feeling sluggish after so many cookies and sweets. Errands to run and our daughter and son in law for supper this evening.  Lasagna with tomato sauce from scratch made yesterday in the crock pot all day – the sauce sure smelled good!

I hope to get back to quilting tomorrow.

(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

oh supper sounds great! Love the fabric choices in this new block. I haven’t quilted in a couple of days and hope to a little today as I clean house. Time to declutter again.

Oh Karen, there is nothing like homemade is there, either cooking or sewing?
The winter club as we call all the snowbirds here in Florida is almost complete with most of the people arrived. I met a woman who is a quilter who just moved in with a sewing machine…so happy and we also have the same name.
wish I had brought mine…love the cushion by the way as it certainly used up scraps and made a very original design…
Happy New Year from the Pan handle of Florida.

Lasagna, my husband’s favorite. Will have to make it soon.

Like the colors of this block…..enjoy your evening with hubby, daughter and son-in-law.

I really love your POTC. Little by little it will get done. I hope to start mine this year, but this year is already looking a bit crazy. I must plug away at something though :/

You’re making me really hungry. Most of our snow is gone, except a little at the edge of the driveway where we shoveled. Went shopping today so I was glad it warmed up a little.

Love this quilt! Which center do you work out at? Our YMCA is so high in fees I refuse to join and have thought of going back to Curves – trying to decide what to do for when I retire for what my small area has to offer!

While we may put most of our energy into quilts, it is nice to make something and finish it in the same day once in a while, isn’t it? I made a hotpad yesterday – quilted and bound. A good way to start the new year! Then I started on a Dresden Plate quilt – that should take a few months but it sure is fun to play with fabric.

Enjoy dinner with your DD and SIL. Sounds yummy.

Really like the fabric/color choices in this latest block!! Variety is good…and can be energizing. Definitely a good thing at this time of year.

Just finished dinner, and then read your post (while the computer was free as the boys are on dinner clean up), and wow we had lasagna for dinner tonight, yes, homemade. Ours was good and I’m sure yours is. Is there ever a bad lasagna? I hand sewed on our trip to Mum’s funeral and back but have not had time since to sew or play with fabric. Hopeful next week as DH and most sons will be back at work, and one is away on holidays now. I think POTC might grow big enough to cover your bed.
