Last night I was busy working on two projects and on making the granola that I posted the recipe for in the previous post.
I had to print out more of my fabric for the Patchwork of the Crosses blocks yesterday so last night I finished joining the aqua colors for the intersections of the blocks. More work today and sewing the light aqua colors on the blocks to join them together – this will take a little time. I hope to have this row joined together and sewed on the main part of the quilt next week.

I go through these pieces pretty fast at times! The white pieces too. I never really sat down to figure out how many pieces I needed total as I wasn’t sure what size quilt I was going to make – for that reason I just have a day now and then when I am printing out pieces and cutting them – I have more sitting on the cutting table that I need to cut out still, I printed out quit a bit of these two colors yesterday.

When I got done doing the 4 segments of the two color of blocks I put it aside and went back to quilting on the Dizzy –red and black quilt. It is an easy quilt to quilt and I have not put as much effort into it as I could have. I started it on December 4th and I should be done with it by now but there have been several weeks that have gone by when I didn’t touch it. With the little amount of quilting that I am putting in this I figured it shouldn’t take but 30 hours to quilt it and still here I am working on it – the reason? working on too many things at once!
I do have 31 out of the 42 blocks quilted so at least I know I am nearing the end – I think I will just concentrate on this quilting project for now though and let the big quilt on the frame sit for another week and just get this one done. Each block takes about 40 minutes to quilt – so 8 hours at the most and I should be done with it – end of the weekend? When the end is in sight I really like to concentrate on finishing them.

I am the same way, when I see the end in sight, I concentrate on that project till it is finished.

Enjoy the process and the finish will come in due time! Sometimes this blogging pushes me into some type of “race” mentality, when I see some starting/completing so many projects. I have to stop and remind myself, while a completion is wonderful, the process is what I truly enjoy. Most of the time there are several processes in various stages. Nothing amiss with that. Your progress never ceases to amaze me. I so love the fact you hand quilt. Have a great day!!!!!

I love the quilt you have in the frame.
Yes, I agree with Doreen to enjoy the process. These pieces look so good, Karen. I am doing some cutting of quilts today and hope to at least start some cutting on my POTC! You inspire me

I’m usually afraid to figure out how much time I have in a quilt or how many hours I have left till finish! Your Dizzy quilt is looking wonderful and all that prep work pays off for you in spades! You get an amazing amount of work done!
The last photo presents so lovely quilt.
