The Tumblers quilt is going along very quickly and easily. All of the rows are pinned to the design wall so they don’t fall down and today I will start to sew the rows together – it of course looks bigger right now then it will be in length – it will get smaller when these rows are all sewed together. This should be a good “picnic” type of quilt. I wonder if most who make this quilt cut the sides straight before binding or bind in the zig-zag type of border this leaves – I’m not sure which I will do at this point.

When I got done sewing by machine for the day – of which I did sew longer than I normally do as the weather wasn’t the type to go out in – I got out Patchwork of the Crosses and started to join the blocks together for the next row. Three more blocks to go for this row.

Why do I just adore tumblers? I have no idea, maybe it’s cause I tumble and fall so much. LOL I do my tumbler edges both ways -just whatever I feel like at the moment.
Your Patchwork of Crosses is heavenly – so soft and peaceful looking.

Love it Karen, and I would definitely be cutting those edges straight if it were me!

I just recently finished a tumbler charm quilt. I squared off the edges. Makes the binding a lot easier to put on!
Your tumbler quilt looks great! I would straighten all the edges, too, before binding. Just can’t picture myself turning all those corners!
Congratulations on finishing your Dizzy quilt – I love that color combination. I’m curious to see what you start quilting next!
Today we had the snow you had yesterday, and I too wimped out on a variety of things – grocery shopping, book group, taking Paul and Chris out for their birthday dinner. We’ll do the latter tomorrow, weather permitting. We live up a huge hill, and I just hate driving down it when the roads are slick. So don’t feel bad for cancelling your dental appt. I would have, too!
Karen, everything you do looks great. Just curious — are you printing the lines on the back of the fabric for your Patchwork of Crosses with Inklingo or printing directly on freezer paper instead and ironing onto the fabric.
You are so productive. I thought you were going to say it would be good for a picnic table cover when your are traveling. And I thought, “What a great idea!”
