Have you read Victoria Findlay Wolfe’s blog? Last weekend she asked people to guess at how many quilt tops she had in a plastic bin that needed to be quilted. I along with two others guessed 20 tops – we were right and we all won a prize
How sweet. My package arrived in the mail today –
I got a charm package of 88!! 5 inch pieces from Cotton Couture – Michael Millers cotton solids – the whole line! hmmm what to make with these – such nice colors – a spool of aurifil variegated thread and a nice bright fat quarter! Thank you Victoria.

Victoria has a book out called “15 minutes of Play” I must confess I have not bought the book yet but it sure looks interesting. She likes to make her fabric – you know sew pieces together and then cut out a shape -
This is what I did today to try out her method and see what I could come up with – big hexagons! No I haven’t the slightest idea what I will use these hexie’s for but I’m thinking of possibly appliqueing them down on a border for a quilt. She has a photo of this on her side bar if you scroll through you will see the nice big hexie that she has there. It inspired me to give it a whirl and see what I could do.

I bet if you wander through her site you will get some inspiration – she has a fabric line coming out this fall!

It’so nice that you won,and some great prizes. I’ve heard so much about the Aurifil thread that I need to go get some to try. You are doing a great job of creating your own fabrics I think you should continue and make a full quilt with them. But I was surprised that she didn’t send you one of those unfinished quilts lol.
Love your improv. hexies! Congrats on your win.:)
Congratulations on your win! You seem to have a lucky cloud over your head, because it seems to me you win a lot. I am in the midst of making one of Victoria’s quilts, and I love her free form method.
Congrats on the win! Yummy colors. That must be a great way of using up scraps. I will definitely have a look at her blog.
