One of Those Days

Diamonds Are Forever, Lucy Boston--Patchwork of the Crosses, quilts, William Morris in Applique-Floral Fantasy

Yesterday was one of those days where I didn’t feel like I got anything done – but I did – I know I wasn’t sitting around all day doing nothing! Do you have days like that too?

I finished a book, I went to the fitness center and even extended my cardio to 70 minutes from the 50 minutes that I had been doing – those winter hibernation extra couple pounds are stubborn in the abdomen area at age 60.  I have to do more, I have to do more! but never seem to want to do it.  Did some grocery shopping too.

I got laundry done, pressed clothes that needed pressing.  I made some cheddar corn chowder for my supper – yummy! potatoes, red pepper, onion, corn some chicken broth, low fat milk, cheddar cheese – I have enough for tomorrow too.

Hexie work was done on Diamonds are Forever –  if I go with the plan of having a white background I might need to not use the light color hexies – that one in the middle there just sort of fades away doesn’t it – I thought I would try one to see what it would look like but I don’t think I will be able to use that color – I might have to take it apart and use the light color hexies for the centers.  The color for the background will be about the same color as the ironing board cover that these hexies are sitting on.  I think it blends too much – right?

I got part way done with this block for Patchwork of the Crosses.

Over the weekend I got a little work done on the Fantasy Flowers – William Morris Applique –  the light blue at the top is done and working on the brownish color piece

Then I moved into the back room to the quilting frame and put Doc Martin on and quilted though two episodes with a break in between.

I never did get back to the Common Bride – don’t know if I will get to it today – back to the dentist this afternoon for the work to get a crown done I know I will have a jaw ache and headache when I get done – I always do – I have jaw problems and dental work gives me a headache.  Last time I had one for two to three days afterwards – hope it won’t be like that this time!!

What are you up to?

It seems to me like you always get so much done! good for you for going to the gym every day. I need to be better about an exercise routine.

I agree that the white outer rows of the diamonds would probably just blend into your background fabric if its light like your ironing board cover.

Congrats on getting to the gym every day! I always struggle to get to the gym, especially when its cold out!

I don’t get there every day! I should but I’m lucky to get there 3 or 4 days a week

So much fun working on multiple things at once. I love them all.
I have mixed feelings about the light hexies. Part of me things it adds some interest to have ones that sort of disappear into the background here and there.

If that is your idea of getting “little” done…I am in DEEP trouble!!!!! You really have to stop thinking like that, it’s hard on all of US!!!! LOL! Hope the dentist “thing” went ok. Hugs, Doreen

Not got anything done?! What do you do when you get things done? LOL! I think you did a lot! :) I agree too, the light diamond will disappear if you use light background, but it is interesting to try, isn’t it. Good luck at the dentist! Never fun…

The hexies are fabulous. I bought the .625 inch Inklingo. Can’t wait to get started.
