More progress on Patchwork of the Crosses – finished one block and started another last night.

A little work on Bow Tie Medallion -

And an idea for the charm pack that I won from Victoria last week – cut all blocks in half – match with the same size in white – it will be a bigger quilt than what this photo shows – but there were no directions – but none are really needed – just look at the photo — easy to do on a design wall – just wing it and decide on size as I go – a rainbow quilt. I saw the drawing on Pinterest and I didn’t have a link that went to a page other than Flickr. I haven’t a clue right now what the size would be – I’m just going to go for it. The fat quarter will be binding plus some other colors for a multicolor binding. The thread that came with the package will be great for quilting it!

Another view of that charm pack – 80 pieces I think or was it 88? I will leave out the lightest ones that are the white/cream and put them in my 5 inch scrap box.

Yesterday was a beautiful day and in between doing some yard work I got a bit done on all of the above!

The “Rainbow Quilt” will be great! Really like that whole combo. I think I am ready for some “yard work”. Today is quilt meeting/workshop and the forecast is for freezing drizzle/rain/ice pellets changing to all snow by late afternoon. I’m leaving home at 8:30 a.m. and won’t be back til around 3 pm. With school out today, road crews aren’t as quick to take care of the roads so might be an interesting drive home. 2 major hills to traverse….the one closest to home is an unpaved “switch-back” that’s a very steep climb. Guess that’s why everyone has 4-wheel/AWD cars!!!!

I like your zig zag pattern. It reminds me of one I’m using right now in a project.

That charm pack is going to be fun to use up! Depending upon how much fabric you use, you could do the zig-zag quilt in two different color ways. Use a light background with the vibrant colors in the charm pack and then use a dark background (black, or charcoal) with the lighter colors in the charm pack. I sometimes struggle with the lighter colors because my go-to background is always ivory or white. I’ve seen a lot of nice quilts lately though that use those pale colors with dark backgrounds.

Looks like a fun little project for the charm pack!
That zigzag pattern looks tempting, it really has a rainbow look to it.

I thought the picture of the quilt looked familiar. It’s a pattern from Monica’s Happy Mochi Yum Yum fabric line she had out. Here’s the link to her blog http://thehappyzombie.com/blog/?page_id=479.
