in Diamonds Are Forever, Lucy Boston--Patchwork of the Crosses, quilts

Last night while I was watching the last three shows of end of season 6 of Gray’s Anatomy – I was working on hexie’s —

I finished this one that I had started on Sunday for Patchwork of the Crosses

And I got 2 more of the Diamonds are Forever done –  I’ll have to get the design wall out soon and lay some of these out so I can see what it is looking like – more than 40 of them are done now – maybe 45?

My giveaway win that I won last week or the week before arrived on Saturday.  I must admit to being thoroughly confused with the directions on both patterns!!  I am really going to have to study the directions.  I don’t know why handbag patterns confuse me but they do.  These are not  written clearly.  I have to order some fusible fleece (I think that was what they called for) and something else – anyhow I will look through this some more, order what I need, and study the directions before I try anything!

A couple more cold nights and then maybe in the low 70’s by the weekend Smile  hope so!!

Bags baffled me, too. Then I fell in love with a bag from loftcreations and never looked back! Her directions are wonderful. Now I can make any bag! Just take it one step at a time. You can do it, I know you can!!

I’ve seen some of the horrible instructions with different lttle patterns. Go slow read through and enjoy. I don’t think I have EVER used fusible fleece. It’s usually for you to go buy something you don’t need. I have used quilt batting (like warm and white) use what you have on hand, forget the fusible. If yo uare unsure just baste it to the fabric pieces before stitching

thanks for all the bag ideas Karen, I have only done a couple bags and they had better instructions than these two did

thanks Kathie!

The quilt blocks look so good! You move right along on your work. That is something I need to work on! LOL

I will be interested in seeing how the hex blocks work together. I’ve never made a bag and am sure I would be confused too. Sometimes it takes just going one step at a time.

I look at your hand piecing and I know I still have a long way to go before I get this totally figured out.:) Your blocks look wonderful!

Your hexagon projects are really tempting me to work n a hexie project too! I love your hexagon diamonds.
I love the look of those bags but know I’d be completely lost trying to make one. I’ve read some of the free patterns online for bags and just ended up too confused for words!

I consider myself to be an experienced seamstress. I learned to sew my own clothes when I was around 13 and made everything until I graduated from high school. Even blue jeans. But I still come across patterns that I do not understand. Even some quilt block pattterns. lol But sometimes it can be frustrating.
