We have added more quilting books for sale – go to the top of the blog and look for the “For Sale” tab. Several of the books added are very inexpensive – there must be a lot of them out there as when I checked Amazon to see prices they were very cheap. One book that some of you might want that I no longer do is “The Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt” – I just couldn’t get into it after I made about 20 blocks or so that is. Another book is “Cotton Theory Quilting” Book One by Betty Cotton – this book is now out of print and is being sold for amazingly high prices on amazon but I found it still being sold on at least one quilt site and I believe I have seen it in a quilt shop or two so I am selling it at $20. I really do not think many will pay the 80+ that is is going for!
As I stated before if you are out of the US and want one of these books contact me and I will check and see how much shipping is but it is most likely higher than you would want to pay.

With very little effort the jelly roll quilt that I started on Saturday evening grew on Sunday. This is so easy to sew. Right now it is close to crib size and I have a lot of strips left over – I am trying to make up my mind if it will continue to grow to twin size or larger or if I want to make a second quilt with the same colors? Well decide soon. Right now it is right under 40 inches x 52 inches.
The block: cut a 5 inch block, cut a 5 inch strip from the jelly roll and sew to the block, then cut a 7 inch strip and sew to the other side – that’s it you could arrange these blocks anyway you want to – I’m sure you could come up with something different than I did.

The quilt top so far:

The jelly roll was one of two that I won from the Fat Quarter Shop several years ago – this is a Bunny Hill fabric called “Lily & Will”

Don’t we all have lots of stuff we don’t really need. Looking at the shelf with quilting books, there are books I haven’t had a look at for a veeeery long time. Don’t even remember all of them.
I like the simple design of you quilt as well as the colors. Very beautiful! Lots of possibilities using a jelly roll.
I really like the colors of this quilt. I thought maybe it was going to be another donation baby quilt.
